It was taken down as it was posted as a thread on here, where it belongs on the UA thread, but we can post in this thread to show what the IAM just got for UA to show Bob and others.

Well since we're talking about what the IAM got ..... i'd like to remind everyone what the IAM lost me ....... after promising me a super pension when I retired , they cut that number in half ........

The IAM get's 80 dollars a month from the company "for me" and that money goes into my pension , which when it is convenient for the pension , get's reduced ...

If the IAM wants to let me have "MY" retirement money instead of stealing it from me , then i'd be willing to give them a chance .

Once again, you have no clue what you are talking about.

The IAMNPF is not run by the IAM, its a separate entity, run by a trustee appointed by the board which is made up of half appointed from the union and half from the companies in the plan.

And what pension did you have with the TWU CBA?

And its not your money, the money is totally contributed by US Airways, not from your paycheck, unlike a 401k.

Well I guess this is the IAMs one and only chance to shine. Will their presence in the industry continue to wane or will they bounce back by taking both Ramp and M&R from the TWU much like how the TWU took everything in TWA? Negotiate a deal that does what Parker claims he is willing to do and then challenge the TWU for a runoff and despite their smaller numbers the IAM could walk away with the whole thing.

Guess it depends on how Parker really feels, does he want labor peace or is he willing to see a lot of discontent and turnover in exchange for super low rates?

We shall see.

Under current conditions if there was a vote there is a good chance M&R would choose "No Union", not sure how fleet feels as AA's Fleet is not as far behind the rest of the industry as M&R. If the IAM pulled off a contract that puts us ahead of UAL and Delta they would IMO even get the Tulsa vote. But they better be quick, the clock is ticking for both Unions. Bottom of the industry doesnt buy loyalty.Ten years has taken its toll.

Sadly that's not how it works in mergers at US Airways .........

Sooner or later , probably later , negoations will stall and our current management will refuse any further talks until we have a "combined" work group ..

But reading what 700 posted , it doesn't seem like the IAM is in a rush to take a vote on which union will remain ....... Their gonna drag it out , take as long as they humanly can so they can keep raking in our dues money ...

yes 700 what you say is true , but I DON'T CONTROL my own money do I ? I can't tell the IAMNPF that I want the money the company is paying them for ME to go to a personal 401k can I ?

Let me be clear , I am not interested In any "group" pensions , be they from the TWU or IAM ... I don't want to take a cut in "MY" pension just because the people who run the group plan screw up ... I want all retirement monies under MY control ...

the IAMNPF will not let ME decide how to spend my own money ...... I mean what a joke that is ... that's my 80 dollars a month that was negoatied in the contract for my retirement , and I have NO SAY SO at all ? Ridiculous ...

You dont have a full say in a 401k either, you only can choose from the options offered in the plan, not everything in the world.

And a 401k is your own money from your check, a DBP isnt.

And how did those 401ks do in the stock market downturn?

I think they made a mistake on Vacation, believe it or not at AA we only get one week of Vacation per year for the first five years.

Dont know how to read it.

What is the term and what are the raises?
