Anyone Care To Guess ?

hey 1st amendment, if you want to get rid of utility, why don't you personally go to each and everyone of their houses and tell their wives and kids their parent no longer has a job.

It is easy to pick on the lowest paid organized group in order to save yourself. And how is it saving money to pay a fleet service or customer service agent over $2 more an hour to do the same job?

Also, what about heavy mtc utility? Would you care to crawl into the wing of an airplane and clean the fuel tank?

Also, there are only eight stations where utility is staffed on all three shifts, the remaining 10 are third shift only. Next time you fly take a good look at an airplane that the ramp or a vendor has RONed and you will see a big difference. And we fly into 89 mainline cities in the US.

I see flights everyday in CLT that come from GSO, RDU and other short hauls where we pay a vendor or the ramp to clean and service and the lavs are putrid green and look like they have been flying for days without being serviced.

Why don't we replace the F/A with a vending machine in the galley?
(And I don't want to hear the FAA mandates them).

700UW,

Well you are going to hear it because the FAA DOES mandate f/a's on the aircraft. And you know, I have NO doubt that there WOULD be vending machines in the back if allowed.

Because you were extremely emotional, you missed the part about placing you guys in the position of pushing back aircraft and the opening of a maint. division to bring in more mechanic jobs AND giving our employees a chance to build upon a Class A product, receiving bonuses if they, the mechanics, can make it profitable.

You are a prime example of employees who surface read when they are upset. Read carefully and you will see the possibility to keep jobs and have some control by the mechanics ( for their part the ones who seem to have had the most difficult fight) and giving them a role in helping their fellow employees.

Since you read my post and are quick to shoot my ideas down, please share with me your ideas. Or are you one of those who feel more like complaining and blaming? If that's the case, that's fine, I respect your opinions, but I do believe your passion in this area could produce wonderful ideas. That's all this is about. How about sharing a few?

It always amazes me that so many are willing to throw their co-workers overboard but are unwilling to fall on their swords themselves. BTW FA,there is no job description such as Pushback Operator.

Mike,

What would YOU like to see happen? Suggestions? I don't think anyone wants to see jobs lost. Unfortunately, 28,000 are coming pretty close, so do you suggest we all go down together? (didn't work well at EAL) Seriously, that was a heart felt comment, but in this thing called a forum where we are free to voice what we think, give me the best of your creative thoughts. Who knows, just maybe somebody will read and implement.

FA,
Do you really believe wacking the 2-3 thousand employees that make up the work groups you've singled out are going to make any difference in whether this airline survives or not? Here's a novel thought. How about the management of this company impliment the changes that they say will generate 2 cents per seat mile savings. These are things that can be done without reopening any contracts. Then we'll see what happens. If they can't do it,then how about they hit the road and we get someone who can. Does anyone really believe that people are going to vote for concession packages that are going to put them out on the street? I don't and I don't expect them to do it to save my job.

Hey Mike,
I would love nothing better than for this team to actually DO their job. I'm not against you, buddy. All of what I have said is in response to the fact that we are again being cornered and I'm just putting thoughts out there . Also, if you read carefully, it's not all about one group. The customer would also feel a difference. Nobody is going to be happy. The questions are , Do you have your resume polished? Are you prepared to take a hard stand against management that could potentially put you out of a job? Can you really get a job down in Dallas making your current salary? Are you prepared? If so, go fight, fight, fight!! Vote NO!

how about this..a reversal of position and pay, what you say...are U upto it.? Dave/Dave throwing bags, cleaning puke and bowel from the AC, changing tires and brakes @ 15/105 deg F. for the same pay...come on..the lower paid employees of this and all airlines make the money FOR the airlines...only the top reap the benefits. Those at the bottom are mearly pawns of the Corporate Greed in this country, which is spreading at an alarming rate. I await your reply.

FA: I think vending machines is a genious idea. Ibet the company would make more money then they do with the BOB meals. Make the whole aft galley one big vending room. In all seriousness, though, I loved almost all of your ideas. I can see a lot of thought went into this. The 10% would be a big crunch for me, as I have lost so much already, I am trying to figure out how I can work a 2nd job on Reserve.

No one wants their job eliminated. I don't know how we go about justifying losing a few more thousand, but on the other hand, it could end up being the whole kit and kaboodle if something doesn't change....FAST. Very good toughts and ideas.

are you for real?....FA is a CCY troll and you agree with him/it on most...please...stop and think about it. CCY uses this forum to propogate their wishes...I know what you are thinking...it's only a small group..but we that read also talk, and if those that talk to those that listen, and are able to convince those that can be convinced...Let the games continue.

It's a cold, damp, rainy day in the Queen city. There isn't much to do in this mess. But seriously, these are just ideas. It's interesting to see how upset people get when one plays the role of CEO. It just confirms to me how difficult our upcoming decisions are going to be. AND, it confirms my belief that I need to polish up MY resume'.

Well then...I see your future is brighter...Oh ...BTW Burger King is looking for management material...I know ..because my gardners cousin told my Butler.

Enjoy

I just dont understand why there couldnt just be a single seniority list and pay scales for the CRJ, EMB, A320, and A330 for pilots.
The problem with one list is the cost. If you were to put a RJ crews on the list there then would have to be a sliding scale comparable to the difference between lest say a 737 crew and a 757 crew. This would do one of two things, either drive the average RJ crew pay op of drag the average pay across the board down. The RJ just does not generate enough RASM to fit in with large aircraft. So by putting them on the same list you loose the saving benefits generated from the lower operating cost.

Hhhmmm, forum (scratch head) <_< the place to discuss ideas....and a place to vent as well. CCY troll... STOP!!
