Anybody Flying The Emb-170 On Sunday?

Oh, NO!!! Those poor Flight Attendants. I can just hear it now. "But, But, But, it fit in the LAST overhead, on the LAST plane I flew!!!!"

The only problem I saw with the plane is that the overhead bins are still small and will not fit a normal size carry-on.
Orville,

Glad your trip went well.

The carry-on space will not sit well with FFs. We were specifically and emphatically told that overhead space is sufficient for standard carry-ons. In discussions with the company, some of us questioned the dimensions as provided by Embraer but were assured that there would be sufficient room.

How are we supposed to work on 2 to 3 hour flights if we can't bring our materials into the cabin?

For those of you who have been on the aircraft- How is the seat pitch?

The volume for each passenger and thier carry on luggage is identical to that of an A320, according to Embraer. But check that wording- volume. That means there may be much more under seat stowage but less overhead bin space, which doesnt help with rollaboards.

Atlantic- the seat pitch is amazing, it feels like even more than the Shuttles had. The seats are very wide and there isnt anything in the way of your feet like on other aircraft. The adjustable headrests and recline are nice too, although the recline button is in an odd place.

Looks like most of all the E170 flights today are taking delays--1624/1625 seems substantial--due to aircraft maintenance.

Any comments or information?

Just growing pains I hope....

My best to you all...

Interesting that it has mainline flight numbers instead of express.

Thanks, Light Years.

Very pleased to hear about the pitch. That seemed to be the trade-off for not having an F class. Much rather have 70 people very comfortable than 6 happy and 64 cramped. And, nobody is stick in a middle seat.

:) Flew non-rev on inaugural EMB170 flt PIT-ALB today. Very impressed with the plane! Flight was great, lots of leg room can even stand fully erect in the aisle instead of hunched over like in the RJ's.
Did I or the board need to know this fact???/  :D

Itrade,

My guess is that you would need to know...cause let's face it, its all about you anyway isn't it?

Read the Sunday Post Gaz. and read about the possible replacement for Siegel if it should go there....hmmmm, being groomed are we?

US 1625 SYR-PHL left about 4 hours late--it is currently en route to PHL but has not climbed above 12000 ft. FLIFO says delay due to deicing and due to aircraft maintenance...Perhaps the problem was serious.

Anyone have more?

Not a good beginning.

My best to you all...
