Sedensky says Lanza killed all 26 victims inside Sandy Hook Elementary School with a Bushmaster .223-caliber rifle before taking his own life with a Glock 10 mm handgun. He says Lanza had another loaded handgun with him inside the school as well as three, 30-round magazines for the Bushmaster.
A loaded 12-gauge shotgun was found in the glove compartment of the Honda Civic Lanza drove to the school with two magazines containing 70 rounds of Winchester 12-gauge shotgun rounds.
At the house, investigators found books about autism and Asperger's syndrome as well as an NRA guide to pistol shooting.
Police said they found a smashed computer hard drive and a gaming console in Lanza's bedroom. An unnamed source told investigators that Lanza was an avid gamer who played "Call of Duty" and other games and rarely left his home.
Investigators found articles on other shootings and a holiday card containing a check made out to Adam Lanza for the purchase of a firearm, authored by his mother, Nancy Lanza.
Documents indicate that authorities found a gun safe with shotgun shells and numerous boxes of bullets. In a bedroom closet, they found ear plugs, a handwritten note regarding ammunition and magazines, paperwork on guns and a metal bayonet.
In a top drawer of a filing cabinet, they found paper targets. In a duffel bag, they found ear and eye protection, binoculars, numerous other paper targets and Lanza's NRA certificate.
Authorities found numerous knives, including samurai swords. They found a military-style uniform in Lanza's bedroom and handwritten notes containing the addresses of local gun shops.

The mere fact that it is impossible to put a shotgun in a civics glovebox tells you three things.....One that the whole story is suspect and two that the writer has zero knowledge about the subject that he/she is writing about. and three, accuracy of the story was of no concern to the writer.

Fox News .com ran their own version of the story with the same quote. I agree that the story is suspect.

I guess we need to see the actual warrant instead of an article from some no nothing hack at AP.

Nowhere in the search warrant inventory from the car does it mention "glove box" associated with the Saiga shotgun with two each 70 round magazines. Wonder if it was one like this?

Regardless..........today there is a full court press to revive the memory of the incident because it's not that big an issue in the public's mind anymore. Obama out begging for support and if you just happened to notice MSM in all forms is out there helping tow the party line in all its journalistic splendor.

7 guns makes an arsenal? Guilty as charged. Wonder where you would look if you were looking for a history of mental illness? Did you read and sign a HIPAA Privacy Rule form?

Nancy Lanza didn't need to run a mental health background check to determine the mental health of her son. From the evidence recovered from her home and as noted in the search warrant dated 16 December 2012, a couple of books she owned were "Look Me in the Eye - My Life with Asperger's" and "Born on a Blue Day - Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant" she was well aware of her son's unstable mental state of mind. Your guess is as good as mine as to why she would even encourage for son to handle or buy a firearm. I wonder if she even knew she was not helping her son's mental state of mind by letting him play "Call of Duty"?

Are you suggesting that a mental health background check would have stopped her from providing firearms or violent video games to her son? Even if you were denied a firearm purchase or conceal permit due to a mental health issue, would that stop you from getting your hands on a firearm and commit a violet crime?
