AMR FILES MOTION 1133 TODAY Mar 27, 2012

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702303816504577307841769100570.html

Here is Horton's quoted today:"

"With losses mounting and oil prices rising, there is growing urgency to move more quickly," Mr. Horton said Tuesday in the employee memo. AMR seeks to cut labor costs by 20%, steps that will result in the loss of 13,000 jobs, closure of a maintenance base and increased hours for pilots and flight attendants.

AAviator, how's BK working out for those high wages of yours? Maybe a new solution to AA's current competitve problem is in order. B6 would be fine if they had the mass. AS would be fine if they were willing to come down to AA's wage level. DL would be good for the employees that survived. Hmmm...who else?

What happened to the APA lawsuit ruling ? I thought the judge said last Friday he would issue his written ruling on the APA lawsuit and that it was assumed AA would move on the 1113c filing AFTER his ruling ? Is there something I'm missing here? Did AA file before Lane's ruling because of what they, AA, thought his ruling might be?

There's not one employee working for AA that would support a merger with US. Not one. I just don't see it happening. JMHO.

Whatever . You guys are hurting . People break when they are stuck in a corner . And AA is in a deep corner .

I believe the judge has ruled against the APA motion.

If you haven't read the entire motion, do. It addresses a lot of the issues brought up on the forum and then some.

Why would AS come down in wages?

UPDATE: the judge set April 10th as the hearing date for rejection of the contracts, so negotiations will continue at least until that set date.

From AMP pipeline, have not verified this info yet.

Realy, I suppose that you have spoken to each and every one of them. This wins the foolish statement of the week award, Congrats

I have spoke to alot of people at dfw and afw, and yes NONE of them want that. US can't even get their own house in order after the last merger. what makes you think this will be any better. Besides my neighbor works for US and he always b*tching about it. He said it is worse than AA. So believe it when people at AA say they don't want to merge with US. Why would they want to, we learned our lesson the first time.

From the APA hotline, in part.....

On April 10, APA is scheduled to file a response to management’s filing of an 1113(c) motion. Management is scheduled to respond to our filing on April 13, and on April 17, a five-day court hearing will commence. Meanwhile, bargaining is slated to continue between APA and management. While we can’t predict with any certainty how much time we’ll have to devote to negotiations, the courts granted multiple extensions in other recent airline bankruptcies to enable unions and management to continue bargaining toward a consensual agreement.

thanks, E.
There are some very interesting graphs, esp. in the labor cost and revenue sections of the document. It would be well worth it for AA employees to know what the company is saying.

Until those Labor Cost charts and graphs are broken down by labor group I cannot understand my needed contritbution!
I no longer accept these combined cost graphs. I need specifics and then I might be willing to work with the company.

I am not going to fund other work groups share anymore!

I want to see the break down

Management
Pilot
Flght Attendant
Agents/Planners
Mechanic and Related
Stores
Fleet Service and Ground Worker

I would even like it broken down into
Pension
Pay
Benefits
in addition to the above break down
