AMFA not filing

Oh I got my eyes out and fingers crossed. ;)

You are such a hypocrite.  On one hand you accuse the AMFA supporters of pitting the line against OH.  Yet here you are defending the screwing of the loyal dues payers cause they hadn't reached the age of 50.  I guess it depends on your point of view.  Best of a crappy situation....BS!
I agree, bringing that TA back showed how weak the TWU is. I was 49.5 on what would
have been the date of signing, a co-worker of mine was 52 with 18 months less seniority
then me. How could anybody who considerers themselves a good union man justify that.
Nobody can see the future but I hope people learned their lesson, lowering pay and benefits
to save jobs in our case just kept too much weight on a sinking ship. The best way to save
jobs is with a motivated work force. As far as overhaul the jobs saved were eventually lost
and you can see how happy and content we are.

So I'm guessing that means the association is in place and a vote won't be necessary?

I was talking to a X-TULE guy here on layoff. He said a majority of the mechs supported AMFA but the shop OSMs want and like the twu because they're doing fine.

Who think the Tulsa facilities and everything associated with TUL will be sold to Lufthansa technique ?

Interesting question, I don't think they could fill their need with new hires & they don't
want to take on a bunch of guys that are in their mid 50's. I'am guessing a mix or very
experienced guys and new hires would be their choice. So if AA chose to leave & the
the new agreement allowed them to outsource all overhaul, the real question would
be is it cheeper to layoff or offer an early out package. The City of Tulsa owns the facility
so it is up to them to sell or not. With all the variables in play I think it would be more
likely to see a TASLE type set up, I can't see why you couldn't have multiple working
agreements.
Another question is if they were to just shut down Tulsa, wouldn't that cause a major
"OH S--T" in the IAM/TUW predetermined ratio plan?

Nice. Hopefully we get an offer to replenish our bank if (once again) we get offered something similar to what was rejected in the past?
Hoping to get something similar to what was offered 5 years ago from a company making record profits? People with this mind frame are the reason we are the lowest in the industry on every aspect of pay and benefits!

I would be willing to take that bet.

I think American Airlines has no plans to leave Tulsa.

Why would they?

Cheap lease, all kinds of room, cheap labor, a location that is centrally located that they can bring in any aircraft, and the city of Tulsa gives them money.

With this powerful combo that 4% being retro is a lock, wouldn't ya say.
Yeah, the dues harvesting association will take the 4% Dougweiser offered last December and sell it to us as "The Association" already working for us.

I expect concessions.Lots and lots of concessions.

Doesn't seem to matter to the PRO association buys here. They're doing the Irish jig because AMFA didn't make it to the ballot.

A lot of people at AA don't want any waves. They would much rather give back than take a chance on fighting. AMFA may rock the boat (actually negotiate not accept just anything). That frightens people. The association comforts them because they know it will be docile and not anger the company. The mentality is better to suffer death by a thousand cuts rather than stand up to AA and risk losing the job.
