AMFA not filing

Vortilon,
You noted that I said "best of a crappy situation." Did you not notice that by voting it down now we all have nothing? Understanding the end game is an important part of negotiating. But if the all or scorched earth policy for everyone is your strategy than it worked. We are all worse off now for voting no as the results speak for themselves.

I look forward to the JCBA process so we can get the SK time option for everyone with changes to the SK balance and accrual.

Overspeed think about some of the people you are trying to talk to.

swamt,
Ideally the company for all retiree medical would be what we all want. But the SK plan works. What's the max SK bank accrual?
Currently our bank is capped at 2000. I do believe the membership put in to the nego cmte to increase that to 2400 but I am not 100% sure...

So are we gonna wait another nine months on the NMB before we can get the negotiations started?? Every day is costing us all money and that started Jan.5th when the 4% was implemented for most. Maybe there are "Top Secret" negotiations under way now. The sooner we get that raise, the sooner the Association can have more money going to their coffer!

As my old buddies ren and stimpy use to say...Happy Happy Joy Joy

Nice. Hopefully we get an offer to replenish our bank if (once again) we get offered something similar to what was rejected in the past?

Obviously, your group isn't subjected to random drug testing.  Overspeeds "scorched earth analogy" is way off base.  Please reference the thread I revived from 2010 about the mechanics rejecting the contract.  The contract was voted down by a huge margin, not by some rogue group of self destructive, renegade, AMFA type, AMTs.

Maybe you didn't notice but I never said how I was planning on voting for that 2010 extension had I gotten the chance. I was 45 that year.

And maybe some of you guys should be allowed or required to smoke a bowl once in awhile. I think it would certainly help.

Vortilon,
So what did you get in your pocket by voting it down? How did you better your position?

Why the rush all of a sudden?  You will be very disappointed if you really think these nego's coming to you guys will go fast.  Still hoping that the membership will still get a vote on this association, after that it will be on the membership...

I know, why is this taking...oh wait. It's the government. Somebody is probably too busy announcing their exploratory committee to be President or taking to the Koch Brothers about how to make themselves richer at our expense.

Rush? Are you serious? From the 9 months waiting for the IAM to get there standalone contracts to the 9 months waiting for the NMB to make there ruling I would have to say that many of us have already had our patience and tolerance tested to their limits.

It's like every time I turn around someone else is looking to stall this thing?

BTW swamt, the CWA negotiations seem to be going at a decent enough clip. For our group (Fleet) we can pretty much guage what it's going to look like when they get their JCBA? I think they'll be a lot of mirror imaging there.

If we could see the future as you seem to be able to do we would all be Lottery winners.
Have we ever bettered our position by voting Yes for any deals in the last 30+ years outside of the 2001 NWA/AMFA match?

You already know the answer to both of your questions.  Look, when you sell a car, do you always accept the first offer?  This boils down to really bad negotiating skills on our side.  Or, more than likely - International types with a self serving agenda.

Anyone hear from the NMB yet? C'mon let's get this show on the road. Chop, chop.
Just received a text from Local 513 stating "At this time the only information regarding the NMB and the 30 day intervene processes is that NO other union filed. As we receive more info we will send out those updates.
