Amfa Drive Mci

At NWA from what one can judge by the number of mechanics left in overhaul, the base(s) that have been closed or shrunk, AMFA did have a say in the companies decisions...by not negotiating to try to keep the work in house.

Learn to read between the lines. Learn to infer what is meant not what is spelled out in black and white. But then conservatives only see the world in black and white. How sad for you to miss the glory of natures paint box.
by not negotiating to try to keep the work in house

You mean failed to offer pay cuts and benefits reductions of all M&R employees to the company in order to save jobs of those with lower seniority.

Learn to infer what is meant

You mean learn to ASSUME and make stuff up as you go to make AMFA look bad.

I don't beleive I ever said I was speaking for MCI! Please reread my posts!

Are you saying the Tulsa and Alliance bases are not assets?
No...Alliance and Tulsa are also assets...they are American Airlines assets. MCI is the red headed stepchild, purchased out of bankruptcy asset. What has AA done with similar assets they got from this merger?

You sign your posts with "AMFA - A union of professionals". Given that just about any AA employee who is a former TWA employee feels that the end of their careers are pretty near, are you suggesting that they vote for AMFA to "sacrifice" themselves for the betterment of their "brothers", many of who resented them becoming a part of AA because of the TWA buyout?
I am still not sure where you are coming from here. Are you saying that AA will also sell former TWA planes routes and all other equipment, in other word Larenzo'ing TWA? If so why would union affiliation stop them? Why is MCI the "red headed stepchild" of AA?

In my opinion, no MCI is not the red headed stepchild of AA.

No I am not asking them to sacrifice themselves for anybody. Again please reread my post, once more. I gave my opinion above!!!

On another note, if changing union affiliations would cause MCI to be shut down, then I would have to believe they will be shut down anyway. Personally if I thought MCI would be shut down because of a union affiliation change then I would say don't do it but, that is not what I believe.

So far you have tried to put words in my mouth that are not even close to what I believe. If you have some sort of agenda, please state it!!!

<_< Rusty---- There is a "Theory" that has gone arround here! It go'es like this. A.A. never intended to keep the TWA employees in the first place! It only wanted it's planes, routes, hub, etc. But to get them, they had to put up a front for Congress! So, working with their Unions, layed out a plan to "discretely" get reid of them! Strip them of their Seniority clauses in their conracts! Stapel them to the bottem of said lists, lay them off at the first sign of a down turn! Well, I did say "Theory"!!!!! But, out of over 20,000 TWA employees at buy-out, about 7,000 are still here! That's before the STL R.I.F.! The ones still here are mostly ATM's, and a few Senior Pilots! Now with the downsizing of STL, you now have most your eggs in one basket, MCI!! AMT's only have 100% of their Seniority at STL, and MCI! So by closeing MCI, ----- I didn't say I beleived A.A., or it's Unions, would do such a thing! No! not I!!! But you can see why somepeople might!

AA didn't pay $742 million and billions of debt assumption for TWA's planes; its gates and slots at JFK/LGA weren't worth the purchase price; and AA sure didn't pay that much cash for TWA's employees.

What did AA really buy? TWA's customers and revenue. Especially its frequent flyers who paid the higher fares. That's what AA wanted. And, of course, AA wanted to make sure no one else bought TWA either. Who'da thunk that September 11 and a rescession would make the employees unecessary?

But the conspiracy theory sounds better, doesn't it? B)

Unions don't close bases. Companies close them. You cannot continually blame any union for the conditions of the airline industry. AMFA has nothing to do with base closings.

Since you spend quite a bit of your time hear, you already know why I want AMFA. I want to improve my profession and I cannot do so being the minority in an industrial union.
Buck, you are putty in politician's hands. Politics is not an aircraft wiring diagram, it is more like wiring in a hundred year old house without any diagrams.

At NWA from what one can judge by the number of mechanics left in overhaul, the base(s) that have been closed or shrunk, AMFA did have a say in the companies decisions...by not negotiating to try to keep the work in house.

The number of mechanics left at NWA at higher wages, right?

Was it not the IAM who was already farming out when AMFA arrived?

And liberals are just Socialists. Now where did that get us?

:D But! The end of this Story is yet to be seen!!!! The "theory" was to shut MCI down! But along comes Mayor Barns, with her buckets of "Gold", and throughs plan "A" into a tail spin! Could it make a differance? Time will tell!!!!

Hey isn't it great that we can all come here and freely ask questions or make comments not all boards like that kind of thing, some board only want you to ask the questions that they approve of, and only make the comments that they want you to make but that problem does not seem to exist here, some board even post Private Personal emails on them, but once again I have not seen that here, I hope that this board continues the way it is, and as far as AMFA replacing the TWU the majority will decide, from what I understand they are performing and audit on the AMFA cards right now so the card count will be updated on Thursday I know many of you are curious about why it has not been updated for awhile, now you know.

If the audit is done and confirmed the accuracy of the numbers is amfa prepared to spend a million dollars on the drive like they anounced at one of their meetings at NW?

I bet that will make McCormick happy $500,000 per year off AA members with just a few staff assistants from the temp service.

What a scam, no wonder he could afford the $2000 dollar suits. Is he still renting office space to Amfa?

First off cio you have posted as a NW technician and a AA technician. So which one
are you lying about?

" I bet that will make McCormick happy $500,000 per year off AA members with just a few staff assistants from the temp service."

This quote from checking it out makes it look like McCormick make this money but it was the company he works under that would make money, and it would not be 500,000 and he knows it. Also even if his company was paid that much from the national I wold not see a problem if he did the job he was hired to do for the technicians under AMFA.

Wow, 500K....About the same as Sonny Hall, John Kerigan and the chosen one, Norma Scotland salaries every year. Not to mention the 900K a year for the new digs on Broadway.

BTW...Living in your Walmart clothes all your life, you probally think every suit cost $2,000. I am sure you have this 1 million in writing.

Many of us did not like the concessions but they were voted in by the majority and now everyone must live with it, if the majority want AMFA then that is what should happen the way I see it, I mean its worth a try anyway the TWU did not do a good job for us so lets see what AMFA can do.
