American Eagle Pilots Express Outrage Over Concessionary Agreement

WASHINGTON, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The pilots of American Eagle, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), have expressed deep concern and outrage over the recently ratified agreement between the Allied Pilots Association, representing the pilots of American Airlines, and their management which resulted in major concessions from the Eagle pilots even though they were excluded from the negotiation process.

Because Eagle is a part of AMR. it will be apart of our success or failure. Those people have lives and families too.

Maybe an Eagle pilot would like to elaborate on what kind of concessions they gave.

If Eagle is part of AMR, then they would be included in any bankruptcy proceeding.

What ever happened to a new day, new CEO, and a new outlook on being positive. I knew you were full of craap when you posted this stuff earlier.

If you want to be positive, stop the thinking of me attitude. It''s not AA that has a problem it is AMR. That is who will be filing ch11. A number of companies as I am sure you are aware of, fit under the AMR unbrella.

Do you believe everything on this board? 90% of this board is APFA and TWU complaining. Every once and awhile an Eagle topic gets thrown in. Don''t like it, don''t reply.

How dare you and un-polite of you.

You posted a while ago "Why do crew members hate crew sched?" Well maybe your ignorace and rudeness says it all!

I know for a fact that Eagle is a big asset to AA. If no one wanted to know about Eagle then why were the AA pilots so made that Eagle was getting the CRJ?

Ohhhh I get it now, AA pilots now have the CRJ so who cares about Eagle from now on.

The only "concessions" imposed on the ALPA-represented Eagle pilots is that AA pilots can now fly the CRJ if they want (like that''s ever gonna happen).

It will happen if APA and AA can find a way for it to be cost neutral, and my guess is that includes all costs, not just per-hour rates for the crew. Since the aircraft would move over to the AA operating certificate, it would have to be crewed by APFA in the cabin, worked by TWU on the ground, and maintained by TWU mechanics. That''s a lot of costs which would need to be reduced down to Eagle levels.

I understand that they are upset, and that their MEC has the responsibility to raise a stink but why? Not pointing fingers just curious and hope they can explain?

No concessions by eagle? They received profit sharing and a raise?
Eagle will go all jet now (give or take a few places like sju)? 50 seats and below will be eagle pilots? Eagle is slated to receive 100+ jets in the next few years? AA is shrinking? 51 seats and above go to AA of which there are only but about a dozen 70 seaters with none on order? AA flow blacks are only slated to go into jets as they aquire them.(51 and above, did I mention there are none on order?) 100 (give or take a few dozen) possibly able to flow back? Flow up is still in effect and new captain upgrades are still entitled to a number? (even though it will be a while before that reverses) J4J is with other carriers not eagle!

How many have flowed back so far? and how many have flowed up?
It sucks but the only consessions I see being taken by eagle at this time is the small inability to reap higher pay on the 70 seater that will only take a few more, if that. (did I mention there are none on order?) Eagle will still hire because they will still be growing, yes? AA jets has to be negotiated and I also mention that it has to be financially feasible for AA to accept it. Otherswise this could all be for moot. Youve seen how AA jockeys numbers to get what they want.

Not a flame thread, just a differences of opinio thread looking for mature responses to fill in the gaps.

Who says we aren/t? According to my union rep since AMR is in such dire financial condition we are postponing the negotiations that we are currently in for 2 years. That means I will still be at 1998 pay rates until 2005. That is 23/hour as a topped out mechanic in case you care. But since you can/t seem to fathom a pay freeze as a concession how about we get the raise we were supposed to get and I then give back 17.5 percent of it. That way we would both be happy.

BTW, how much more are you making post concessions than the top out rate of your previous contract?
