If they were able to mop the floor with Parker and the boys they wouldn’t still be stuck with their “Hard 40” language to have Medical insurance.
Kinda of like our situation trying to secure a mechanics contract at SWA. I really believe it's like that everywhere.

Of course it is. Even the Pilots in the industry don’t get everything they want or ask for. They have the most amount of sway because they fly the planes (Don’t argue) After that it all kind of equals out under the RLA.

FA’s might hold more sway than the remaining groups only cause they’ve shown a History of occasional radical behavior but otherwise they don’t have any magic weapons either.

All any of the groups can do (Which I don’t think they really enjoy) is apply pressure wherever they can and hope any logjams break.

Didn’t happen in their JCBA, just the opposite occurred.
They won't stand to be treated like we have been. Their past president screwed them over then bailed. Much like jim little did us. I`d be shocked if either the APA or the APFA allow their members to be punked the way we have been.

Yeah, the APFA version of jim little screwed that up. Then bailed out for management. We will see, but I doubt either the APA or APFA take it in the shorts like we are.

I really don’t understand this? How did we get punked?

Pilots don’t air much of their dirty laundry publicly but they aren’t thrilled about everything right now. And if you ask some FA’s they’ll tell you they took it in the shorts something fierce. Oh they got wages yea but they lost a lot in work rules.

Go read some of their past Hotline posts and join one of their FB Group pages.

They’re always talking about layaway time, hotels and preferential bidding problems.

Parker took out that hard 40 (meaning every FA has to fly 40 hours every month) at the request of the APFA with the knowledge that hard 40 would be back in if contract extension was voted against sending certain items to arbitration. APFA lost every arbitration item and hard 40 in contract.

APFA were not in section 6 negotiations like we are now. We were just left out because of how the association was formed.

It was more of the book face know nothings saying, Parker gave in on hard 40, we can get more out of him.

Parker was in charge of a LCC that was just about to close the doors to leading largest airline that makes millions every quarter and people think a person who goes from working as a FA one day to negotiating against the largest airline in the world the next is going to walk all over Parker and his team.

We have a membership that could care less, regardless of the leadership. I want mine and screw you mentality. It has taken many years to get like this but I blame the TWU for this.
No one trusts the TWU or this ASSociation.
Lets see if the apfa sticks together..
You can't trust the TWU after what happened to us. Their bad business choices, { without any member input } put us in an inferior position. I know quite a few people who care, but we were powerless with no say in really important matters. Many people do not trust this Association due to having no say in being in it. We'll see how the APFA does. Hope they do well.

Don't forget "Oh wise one", you and your little foot soldiers have chirped numerous times (of course when it fit your narrative) the other work groups were up against a shot clock. At the buzzer, you are stuck with arbitration. Had to get the best deal done quickly. In case you didn't watch it, she did state "it has taken almost two decades to get into true section six bargaining, meaning we aren't beholden to have to take what is dished our way".

If Parker dropped the Hard 40 requirement, that’s the first I’m ever hearing about it? Here’s the last Hotline update on it that I know about.

Can you show me any news from the APFA to verify your comment?

And we only just got in to Section 6 ourselves last September.

You are aware despite its popularity we were under an active agreement the last 5 years right?

Haven’t you guys already told each other this stuff like 1000 times already? Seriously.

And TWU is not a Human Being BTW. The organization itself went under new management in a hostile takeover.

Think you’ve heard me say this 1000 times already too.

That was back in 2013 or 2014 when the APFA got their current contract. The hard 40 was just enforced this month.

Ok so we are on the same page then. I thought you were saying Parker relented to that one. I knew there was a lag on when it was going to be enforced and I think I recall it may have even been extended out but I was sure that it was going into effect this year (2019)

BTW their deal on how they did their 401k has ended now as well.

Starting this year they now get a 5.5% 401K Match just like we do.

Does anybody else think fighting for better shifts is an excersize in futility. Didn’t we take cuts in 2003 to save OH and pensions.

MCI AFW TAESL are all closed and pension is frozen. Despite what big jets says, I’m sure our negotiating team will outwit AA executives. After all Our guys went to a month long negotiations class.
