In our meeting last week when Baskett n a phl union were in DC they made clear that the mgmt wants the when n where. They told us wages would be higher. Mgmt wants the when n where at their discretion .Union is fighting to preserve.

Still waiting for that so called last best offer

It’s now reached the point where “When and where so directed” will likely not be accepted by the Membership in regards to any of our work be it Lavs and Water, Catering, Deicing or Transfer Drivers as the Membership understands what “When and where so directed” actually means.

Wages of course will be higher but what’s needed to be known is how much higher to at least somewhat make up for our terrible Profit Sharing formula/ payout when compared to the rest of the industry.

Negotiations continue this week BTW.
 
This International group Sito, Alex,and bipolar Peterson are negotiating for the mechanics also.
In their latest communication they are telling us we will fight this company.
I have a big problem with this:
1: what am I fighting for
2: need to know specifics on the scope that you say will cost jobs
3. you are there to represent the current members not the unborn

This update makes it sound that you are using the maintenance side as leverage for Fleet.

TO ALL THE MEMBERS THAT DID NOT SIGN AN AMP CARD TO RID OURSELVES OF THIS ASSOCIATION "you get what you deserve"

all current employees will not be displaced from their current job or station. Period.
This is awesome protection. Bi Polar peterson is making $200,000. He is fighting for future dues.
Its inevitable that we will have to vote on the last offer. We can move forward now with the benefit of all, or wait 5-10 more years.
 
i see that dfw/ord/mia all voted out incumbents the last election cycle? lots of angry FSCs.

The problem ALWAYS is complacency. These people get into office with good intentions but then they let the office get to their heads. The worst part is when the Local President becomes a ghost and the Membership never sees them on the Field.

Brian Oyer though particularly was a surprise because he was directly in Negotiations and about 3/4 of our JCBA has his hands all over it. IMO Fa doesn’t come close to Oyer and Oyer would have had my vote (12 years in DFW allows me my opinion)

I never worked in ORD so I can’t base an opinion.

MIA I certainly have talked enough about here and can’t add any more than to say the 2 to 1 loss by Sidney Jimenez proves I was right.

If you ever got enough cards ,I am sure it would be challenged and they would say all these groups would have to be included in maintenance. I am sure people are watching AMFA situation at SWA and seeing we are at 6.5 years, with no solution yet, and ask themselves what will an independent union do for us, with Parker and company. That might explain the lack of interest, and not necessarily their apathy.

And many times during Negotiations it was Fleet Service who was put on hold to support Maintenance issues in talks.

Since it seemed as if you used to know a lot and had an insider can you tell me if all of your Scope issues have been resolved?

Has the Company backed down on all the OH work they wanted? How about Line Maintenance?

What was or has there been an agreement on Title 2 Facilities and Automotive work?

The AMP dreamers planted a seed and nothing even sprouted out of the ground.

driver again I’m going to reiterate. Even in the absolute worst of years 1983, 1995, 2003 and 2011 none of these people were ever able to gain enough momentum at AA to challenge their TWU representation. What does that tell you despite all of the excuses where the majority lies?

LUS Mechanics did gain a representational challenge against the IAM but also despite any and all excuses the majority chose to remain with the IAM and not go with the IBT. (AMFA and TWU weren’t even in the running)

So we continue to move forward.

I think when the association bites the bullet then amp will do much better, or in about a year.
