As for your question on why all the traveling? GVP is correct. Once the nmb takes over, the mediators again determine where and when we meet. They will sometimes if things aren’t progressing use this one tactic to make the company and union jump all over the country.
They also have the ability to say we will go till midnight every night, or so many days in a row. These are some of the things they will use to try to get the two sides to move on their positions.
 
I wouldn’t change a thing. Someday we’ll all realize that these are our “good old days.”

As for this weather, I think I’m gonna stay in the upper Midwest awhile longer. I like the cats I work with, and my kids are thriving.

seems like some believe this is a referendum on their lives.

to me, these are not the good old days. in fact, me and others at work believe this is the worst it's ever been in regards to a few things.

as far as the weather, i had read years ago that people that retire in the upper midwest live longer after retirement than those that go south. once in a while, the cold is good for you...kills bacteria.
 
Again Tom Regan and Sito Pantoja are not the sole delegates on the direction of all things in this Association.

But Brother Regan is very well respected among the TWU Negotiators.

I doubt that will happen myself but personally I’d dance in the streets if I could bid by the time I became a CC

I was a die hard fan of classification seniority when we (NW) merged with DL. 10 years on, and I think DOH is the way to go. No carve outs, not adjusted dates, no “bad time.” I know Kasher and a few other things might make that impossible at AA, but still...
 
WN got approval for a proving run. OAK-HNL Tuesday morning I’ve heard.
Won't be long now for ETOPS, the No voters tried to tell people the FAA won't give SWA ETOPS without a mechanics contract, they were wrong. I am sure if we don't have a contract, AMFA will file a lawsuit trying the block it.
 
According to sources the proving flights will be an actual online inbound ETOPS aircraft everyday this week starting Tuesday arriving from LAX at 07:00. The OAK ground crews will work the Turn as a real live ETOPS flight. Departure time said to be 0800-11:45 HNL (2hr turn) HNL 14:00-21:00 OAK.
And the bird will rotate back at 22:15 to LAX.
Wednesday the aircraft does an OAK-OGG-OAK.
Then Thursday it's OAK-HNL-OGG-OAK.
Friday and Saturday are planned diverts simulations.

right now, the disparity in compensation is felt and talked about. aa is firmly #3 out of the legacy 3 for reasons that i and others see every day.

things that occur every single day that would never happen at delta. the poor quality and quantity of low level mngt. combined with a few scamming crew chiefs is starting to seriously affect the morale. no one wants to do anything. we're lucky that tens of millions want to fly and the shale oil revolution has developed, otherwise, this airline would have no future.

my work area has some 20 FT shifts and there is only 1 FT am shift. a 0700 am shift that a guy with 1977 seniority has. all other am shifts are PT. guys with 2 years have am/partial weekends. quality of work life? nope, not if you want am hours in this area.

united has improved everything by leaps and bounds and they decided to show their appreciation by paying double time to workers who made it in on wed/thurs.

aa gave free chili and hot chocolate. trainers had to bring chili to our work area because the supervisors are too busy enjoying their coffees with CARs agents instead of doing their jobs.

ridiculous stuff. guys with 35 years never made a peep and are now openly cynical and sarcastic. in my opinion, united fell to #3 in the early 90s and it took them 25+ years to claw back to #2. aa was #1, it is now firmly #3 and still in a free fall.

Your stating that you don’t understand this rumor?? Ok, look your free to believe who you want, that’s fine with me. But it does take some people longer than others to realize who is blowing smoke up their ass.

I have said in my briefings that we are at a point in negotiations that things could get done the next time we meet. But we are also on the major issues ( scope & insurance) where it could take another year. Thats frustrating to hear I know, but thats just how big these issues are.

As I Have said in the past, our first goal is to protect everything we are doing today. The company as of last week has Never, and I mean Never offered us in a written proposal what we are performing today in our 40 stations. If they had done that, then that would have been something we would have had to seriously consider for our scope.
Again, believe whoever you want. Some of us IAM and TWU care to brief and explain what is going on after each meeting. You can believe those post, or believe the rumors. I do realize some would rather go with the rumors. Our info can be rather boring sometimes compared to the rumors.

In your next bedtime story, at least have the decency to tell the members that your bedtime stories are based on what someone told you and are second hand.

and another thing. you guys dont do squat when you are down the hall or downstairs from the negotiations. I remember asking delaney why he just didnt send the negotiators home. He said it was a roach thing.
The UA negotiators were making their fantasy football lineups and i was in their league with kollner as commissioner. Not sure who is the commissioner with CBs team.
