American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Thank you Mark and Sean. Hopefully most will see that the company’s statements, “offers” and propaganda videos are misleading at best.
Hearing that the company once again reneged on their word pertaining to the 2014 agreement and gains that would be made in a JCBA, members should understand that they prove time and time again to be deceitful and cannot be trusted.
the company guaranteed all 16,000 employees their jobs forever. This fight is about the future dues of the iam. The company proposal puts all of us 10% over united and southwest ttl comp and brings our ttl comp from $88,000 up to over $100,000.

But thats it. No more additions, only subtractions from here. Thats the story.

Im willing to kick the can and see what happens in 3-5 years. Lets just wait.

My position has always been Racer that I never wanted the Profit Sharing in the first place. I would have been more than fine keeping the original 7% above the top in the industry and if some years that meant other Airline peers made more than so be it.

I’ll always take the guarantee over playing the Vegas odds myself.

Trying to save future generation of jobs when technology will make many absolute is chasing a fools dream and is not noble but just not smart. Every single union member needs to act in their own self interest, that is the only sure path to success.

so they are calling for a slowdown in the video but are they going to pay the fines?
These clowns took the money for cross utilization, so all leverage is with the company.
Looks like baskett aged 50 years. wow. Then again none of us are getting younger.
Good video but disappointing that there has been no twu fleet leadership that supports this.

Wrong Tim. It was a TWU Fleet President who texted me this video this morning (while I was still sleeping BTW) And what makes you say that no TWU Leadership supports this? Actually they are in complete and total agreement if you’ve been paying attention. There is no division.

And I don’t hear anyone calling for a work slowdown. But your buddy Jerry can read it anyway he’d like to obviously. Proving it is another thing.

You can push and push and push as much as you’d like for the Company side Tim. Push till your arms drop off but there’s not going to be any movement on giving up those jobs for today or tomorrow. Both the TWU and IAM have given up too much over the years already. And you’ll be the first to criticize and condemn them for it so stop being a hypocrite.

And your total compensation numbers are off as well. Who gave you those numbers?

“Every single “UNION” member needs to act in their own “SELF” interest”

You need to look up the definitions of those two words. They don’t gel, they collide.

If they don't look out for themselves, who will? Are you saying that you don't look out for your own interest? Look, the Association blew it. It's just that simple. The only union dumb enough to go for the $$ bait and give the company the Holy Grail we know as cross utilization. I'm not against you wanting to wait, I tend to agree with you, but don't blow smoke up people's chit telling them that you will get anything more than what is already on the table. Most likely a lot less and less jobs if this dumps into section 6. Count on it.

I said TWU Fleet leaders. It would be nice to see the TWU and IAM in the same video....has that ever happened? Nope. Because NO TWU fleet guy wants to stand in a video with the IAM talking about the IAM pension and IAM health care deal breakers. You and I both know that LUS health and IAM pension are not deal breakers for the TWU and THAT is why they stand down on those items. As far as a slowdown, yes, it does appear that that is what they are calling for. Especially when they are quite explicit using terminology that judges have found associated with slowdowns. I'm not sure what Jerry Glass would make of this but my hunch is that anyone who watches the video can't come to any other conclusion, thus, I'm sure the video was already saved, and if any significant slowdown does occur then those two in the video will most likely have to pay the big bucks. And if things do deteriorate because of one, then you can all but count 1,200 IAM members gone and a few TWU stations which these two could be responsible for.

BTW, what you are saying is to ask all Association represented employees to keep what they have for the next 3-5 years until they eventually have to give concessions anyways because you can't be serious if you think that the company is going to increase the their last and final offer given that the union has already taken the $$$ bait in return for giving the company it's holy grail already. Tell us Weesles, what leverage does the union have other than just waiting a few years and see what happens? Don't just beat your chest and shake your fist, tell us any reasonable exit strategy out of this God forsaken negotiations?

This is the beginning of the end. There is no exit strategy. The union can either allow a vote, in which case it will overwhelmingly pass, or it can kick the can and see what happens in 3 years.

Tim the only people who probably do give you information is Jerry Glass himself or some rep for Ford and Harrison.

No Tim, No. I’m not going to listen to the people who feed you information.

You yourself even just said the other day that your fly (source) might be lying to you.

Yes they are Tim. (BTW Never said that I WANTED to wait, try again kid)

Of course you know what Jerry Glass thinks. You’re in direct contact with him.

BTW if we don’t contractually OWN those 1,200 jobs I say let them TAKE them. Same thing with the one or two TWU Cities. TAKE THEM!!!!!

I ONLY want what we OWN in our Contract. Period.

No no no not 3 to 5 years. I say it’s going to be 15 to 20 years. Hey maybe we should make it 20 to 30 years.

Jeez Louis with the annoying dramatization from putzes who have absolutely ZERO clue how much longer this is going to take.

Shut up with yer damn fear mongering. It’s ANNOYING MAN.

Well, that is very selfish of you, but you are insulated in MIA and won't be one of the hundreds of IAM members who will be out in the streets or TWU members from those few stations. But then what Weez? So you tell Uncle Jerry to take those jobs......and he does.....does that solve anything then? What is your exit strategy?
Believe me, the company has what it wanted in cross utilization and only paid wages to get it. It does want this contract to realize more future synergies but if that isn't possible then oh well, they are completely fine with having a bankruptcy contract for all of your TWU members. Again, what is your exit from this chest pounding path when the union already blew its leverage on cross utilization? Members wanna know

Yes Tim, you are correct, someone has already put it out there that they would rather wait. I believe the quote was (minus the name as we have an agreement) "You know I’ve gotten to the point now where I really hope we don’t get a contract for another 4 years."

“It does want this contract to realize more future synergies”

We all want things in life don’t we Tim. So what’s the exit strategy for the Company to get those synergies that THEY want?

Members wanna know?

Doesn’t look as if either side has that exit strategy huh?

Only to see YOU (Greedy old senior guy) suffer all the way till you retire.

I don’t want to sell out the future like some desperate pathetic POS slime bags out there.

Those people are the real “””GARBAGE””” out there.
