Your analogy is the guy eating the ham sandwich telling the guy to give up his steak....saying “ I’m eating a Ham sandwich WHY CANT YOU”?
My analogy was for ALL to eat steak forever.

The guy eating that ham sandwich knows the steak was taken off the menu under the new owners of the restaurant. The guy eating the steak hopes they order more. In the meantime the guy with the ham sandwich can't order the hamburger because he's being told their trying to get the owners to change their mind and order steak. So just wait and keep eating that sandwich.
We'd all love the steak, but it's being taken off the menu.

imo it just doesnt make sense to contract out the servicing and negotiating of your contract with a 3rd party, whether the organization is the iam, twu, amfa, ibt. AMP insources the job.

All this talk about Steak.
Because of the MERGER. Which meant American Airlines AND USAirways I’m eating Steak with a marvelous side every night. The only thing I’m not eating yet is the desert. I’ll be eating the desert in due time.
No our Negotiators on BOTH sides do not and should not bring back any offer until that offer becomes an agreement at this time. I for sure as hell do not want buyers remorse.

I’d like it if someone can explain this part of the last update to me?
“The company’s negotiating committee continues to make proposals that contradict what their Chairman and CEO Doug Parker and President Robert Isom have publicly promised our members from the beginning of negotiations. In stark contrast, American’s proposal will eliminate 2,500 AMT jobs, not include facilities maintenance work protections and allows the outsourcing of almost any fleet service work.”
This is the first time I have heard anything about any proposal from the Company that would give them the ability to “Outsource almost ANY Fleet Service work”
That’s the part I’m having a problem with and would like explained and that SHOULD have been explained in the “Official” update?

To some here, they are being "force fed" chipped beef and spam, while being held captive by the unions.
Rigged Corporate Bankruptcy Laws were used as tool to take the steak off the menu by the respective COMPANIES long ago. Now, these posters expect us all to believe that this all the union(s) fault. They want us to ignore the facts, and expect us all to march with them in lock-step, like a battalion of little brainless soldiers.

Racer I know that you don’t have any control over how they’re written but I think it has reached a point though where the “Official” updates have become almost intolerable. That absolutely is causing some of the loopiness you’re seeing on this page.
After reading Peterson say that things seem to be progressing along well it’s incredibly contradictory from what is being put out by the Association.
It appears as if the two sides are really not on the same page at least when it comes to how to inform the Membership. It’s like I’m watching two different Movies on the same screen?

I can see where the confusion comes from. I’m not so quick to say that GP was incorrect when his memo came out. I’m also not going to say the ASSOC does not put out accurate info.. Negotiations sometimes turn on a dime.. it very well may have been going well that week and now ....Well, NOT SO GOOD. Although they appear contradictory, Both could actually be accurate for when they were put out.
