Week get your ass on the phone to 700 and do as Tim says.Chop chop
I see AMP is becoming an issue to contend with!
As a membership we are tired if bring treated like mushrooms and fed ****. The unfortunate reality is that yes you are correct if they actually treated us with any type of respect instead of contempt they would not be on the verge of a reveloution.Card drives have been used in the past to garner attention and this time around it seems to have given credence to the tactic based on more information being released and the joint letter coming out.
It's too bad this level of information sharing didn't happen sooner. It may have mitigated the current frustration levels.
i wish you guys success. Imo, better to wait for a jcba then just vote in the twu by triggering a vote. But if i were a mx id go for amp, or twu. In fact, if the twu was smart, it would solicit a writein campaign if there is a vote cuz no way in hell will the association win.As a membership we are tired if bring treated like mushrooms and fed ****. Let them eat cake she said.
Just about begged the twu to start a drive. They are not interested.i wish you guys success. Imo, better to wait for a jcba then just vote in the twu by triggering a vote. Agree.Exactly, how should your card drive effect negotiations other than speeding it up I strongly doubt it does anything to contract content and language,at least it shouldnt. The Ass hould be trying to avoid section 6
While I understand the intention behind the letter, personally I think it was a very dumb move again to acknowledge the distraction. Sorry Metal.
Right now it is a TWU effort.you guys might ought to get busy in clt then,I've spoke to a few MX and none had heard of a card drive
copy, just thought I’d let you knowRight now it is a TWU effort.

Danker writing that letter prolly means he is now illegitimate now. Sucking up GP and Sito is distasteful.. OTOH, hopefully amp isnt a one man band that gets paranoid at legit questions.A couple things
If you think this card drive is a tactic to garner attention, you are as delusional as the hierarchy of the ASSociation.
I'll help you, this card drive is to do one thing.
Eliminate the TWU/IAM Association.
Also, if you believe sharing more information would have mitigated the frustration and prevented the drive, see the above ^^^ underlined^^^. If anything the increased sharing of very poor information, (because lets face it, thats all there's been in the 3 ~ plus years of the Association), would have increased frustration and the drive probably starts sooner than it did.
The AMP drive grows and gets stronger , every hour , every day. With every stupid response by the Association I see more people that are woke by just how inept they've been. The Association has been one of the strongest AMP organizers so far. It's really quite remarkable to behold.
Agree.
And it IS speeding negotiations up!
WeAAz, it very difficult for them to NOT acknowledge a card drive....especially when they are getting "so God-darned close!"
the company wants a contract. While I may agree with you that now isnt the time to hit any restart buttons, im inclined to think that the mx deal will not keep all scope. In that sense, i could understand mx creating amp, much like I tried to stall our healthcare loss with a dol appeal. I mean, if Gary Peterson and Danker kept the scope, they would have come out with a TA and killed off amp. For that reason, amp makes sense.I don’t think it’s speeding anything up and even if it was is speeding things up a wise idea?
I don’t think it’s doing anything at the moment except maybe giving the Company a nice greedy eye put on it. You can push the TWU and IAM as much as you want but you aren’t going to push the Company.
If anything you “could” “maybe” give them a reason (excuse) to completely shut down talks if they think you “really” are gaining momentum? Why would they continue if they’re not sure the Association is going to have the authority to complete the work?
The reason you think you’re suddenly seeing movement again is because the Company finished compiling the data they needed from posting proposals online and waiting to read our reactions and it’s time to move again.
They also probably would like this to be concluded before our Contracts become amendable in September and then they can move on to focusing on the next group of talks with the other workgroups (Keeping their friend Jerry Glass working and collecting a paycheck)
