American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

A NO vote from me!
I hear ya but it will pass i believe.
I know this sounds really bizarre and i myself have a hard time believing it but they may settle on 2 different contracts, ie., 1 for lus and one for laa. Nuts, right?
The amfa drive changed everything. A recertification still may be in the cards in an attempt to block amfa but the card drive has moved quicker than a california wildfire so i dont think a 30 day intervener window will stop amfa if amfa truly wants american.
I didnt buy the "one day late" excuse of amfa last time so i hope the amfa leaders dont stall this.

Whatever the case, lus is still going to keep their healthcare and also the company didnt have a problem converting the bonus to retro.
Remember, for fleet, retro is a concession as opposed to $6000 bonus.
As far as lus healthcare, remember lus healthcare gets terminated in less than 2 years according to the lus contract, so this is becoming less of an issue for the company.

Twas the weekend before Christmas and not a contract in sight. The ramp full of workers and things don't look bright. We asked our reps for some info tonight, not a peep from the union not even a light. So we hung our heads low with nothing to show another year passed getting kicked in the A$$.

Merry Christmas to all my fellow association members.

A Letter to Doug Parker and Robert Isom
December 20, 2019

All,

President
Dale Danker
I need your help. Below is a form letter that I’d like you to send.
I need all of you to tell Parker and Isom to give us a last and final offer.
I feel this is the only way the NMB is going to force us in the Association to bring back something to vote on. It may have more good or it may have more bad but you deserve something to vote on. I have expressed my frustrations to everyone involved and it seems to go nowhere.
Your voice is needed.
Dale
PS….Merry Christmas

Re: American Airlines / TWU-IAM Negotiations

Gentlemen,
I have been very patient and understanding in your efforts to come to an agreement with our ongoing negotiations. You have told me repeatedly in town hall meetings and letters on jetnet that you want me to have an industry leading contract.
This letter serves as a request that you make a last and final offer to the Association. Then I believe the NMB will require the Association to bring it to a vote of the membership.
Thank you for your time during this holiday season.
Signed
Xxxxxxxxxxxxx

I hope you guys get your cards signed and are able to move on. I understand from reading here and other Social Media areas that the drive is going well...having said that, I think you guys are over estimating just how much your card signing and it's success is influencing the Association and it's negotiations. Every time Tim or Dave or others throw some rumor out there (and they are rumors as I have not seen one backed up with proof) some of you guys start your rah rah about "keep the cards coming in, it's definitely having the Association rethinking or worried". No proof of this either as we all sit exactly where we sit years ago. As a matter of fact, the last update was one of the worst and even proved the Association was nothing but lies. But, this drive did not provide any new good news as many of you claim...sorry if I hurt someones feelings, but I see no proof to back up any of your claims other than Tim's fairy rumors...

Looks like Danker is doing a reach around on the asso. A bit surprised in the actions of a Pres. of a loc. I understand his thoughts that everyone deserves a vote, but to go out and ask the membership to help him do a reach around on the nego cmte may bring him some hard aches from the asso. and the nego cmte as well as the exec nego cmte and International. I guess we will see how it all plays out.
On a second note; does Danker know what an LBFO will trigger? In mediation there are rules and regs. The reasons SWA never pulled out their LBFO. Because it does trigger certain events to come if a LBFO is voted down by the membership.
The card drive is in fact troubling the asso., now is it directly changing the way they nego.? Prob not, but it is changing the way the asso puts out info and false updates indicating progress when in fact they have no progress or better yet, have movement backwards as we have seen in the last update and no meetings since. If Danker is successful with his reach around, I am sure the nego cmte will get pissed off as this does make the nego cmte look weaker at the table when the Pres and/or membership try's to do a go around on the nego cmte at the table to get an LBFO to come out to vote on. I agree with the notion that the membership deserves a vote but it should be approved or endorsed by the nego cmte IMO. Just food for thought.

It is going well. And more energetic than in the past as well as new card signers every day that did not sign cards last time. Over estimating? I don't think so. Just very impressed by the energy and progress thus far into it is all.
You watch, just as in past drives something will majically give at the last moment in nego's when they really get worried about AMFA and all of a sudden there will be a contract.

The AMTs of AA and LUS are fed up with this whole sham of a union. The mechanics want out of both the IAM and the TWU. The AMT needs to break away from the ramp it is that simple. God willing I hope the time has come.

Well something needs to move this deal forward
I’ve said all along if the members vote it down then it’s voted down but we need our voices heard and this is the only way and that is to vote

The last update was subtly arrogant. Obviously, the association may not care. I believe it does and will roll out a ta in the next 60 days. I believe Dave thinks there wont be anything next year.
I spoke to a union guy in negotiations and he asked me to scale back all the amfa stuff on my fb group because he claims it will hurt my fleet group. He also claimed a ta quickly. Said they agreed to 10% ps, and full retro.
Of course, talk is cheap. Dave or you may be closer to the truth but this phone call was about amfa so i know for a 100% fact they are concerned. And he also said that amfa leadership has a good relation with the twu and will never submit the cards. I hope that is wrong but imo the only way to find out is to keep signing.
Everything could be BS but one thing we know is that signing cards is the most powerful thing the mx can do.

If AMFA gets enough cards they will submit them more twu lies

No need to worry on filing, both guys are good friends. So any talk about AMFA not filing once the card count exceeds the threshold needed, can just be put to bed now.
