American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

NMB has no say so over a vote. If both co. and union agree to allow it out for a vote it will come. But, BOTH sides will have to agree, otherwise it does not come out for a vote. So you are claiming the offer on the table now is less of an offer than what was in the original offer and, now you are claiming that this now offer will get even more less of an offer in Jan. You say all this according to a "report". Post the report and let the membership see it, if not I call complete BS on your info.
NOTE: If the co really wants it out for a vote they could inform the NMB that they will not move another inch unless there is a vote. Then the NMB could recommend to take it out but cannot force it to be brought out. But, she could say you guys will be put on ice if the union did not allow a vote.
Samelson getting the blame again by the co.
You are incorrect

Tim,

Where is your proof that the IAM wants binding arbitration? You are just spewing lies to promote your own agenda. You have no idea what is proposed and what is not. All you have is "my guy on the inside" or my "reliable source". Without proof, you got nothing.
The Blue Fairy at the bottom of the garden told me PJ.
And even though the iam has refused to agree, ever, to punt contract talks for any railway or airline previously prior to the last 12 months, Sito has now done it twice since they were clear of elections.
The last time was last week with the iam FAs.
Time will tell

I hope you can understand and support the mx getting amfa.

Always good news when we hear of added work as well as head count. Are these 30+ positions on top of the 400 being hired that was originally announced some time ago? Or are these new and different positions?? Congrats to the mechanics in Tulsa for more growth...

American Airlines again beefs up its largest maintenance base
I remember when the exTWA Kansas city maintenance base was beefing up work while we were in contract negotiations. They were told that the base was going to be open for a long time. The heavy 767 work shifted to Kansas city from Tulsa. Tulsa warned them it was not going to hold true. Somewhere in that time line a card drive was in progress. So the end result was Kansas city base voted Yes for the contract and hardly any cards were signed. Shortly thereafter AA announced that the Kansas city base was going to shutdown and the work went back to Tulsa. So this recent bump in work in Tulsa is starting to fall in line to what happened in Kansas city. A card drive is putting the TWU in a defensive position. They will eventually start putting out the same copy and paste anti AMFA rhetoric.
Change unions and lose jobs.
Change unions and lose your contract. Change unions and negotiations will start from scratch. Change unions and the company will lay off and get rid of overhaul.
It's coming soon. Just wait for it. Get the popcorn ready.

I do not agree with you on this.I had friends in KC and they new their future was short,
also the expansion/added work in Tulsa of wheels and brakes is strictly a business decision.
The company has no incentive to bring work in-house they are under the contractual % of worked allowed to outsource.
You opinion is not backed by facts...

Believe what you want. You can't change what happened in the past in Kansas city. I see a similar trend.
Only time will tell.

when SWA and AMFA negotiates their contract. The mechanics weren’t in their 16th year of concessions. I believe they were in their industry leading contract which got better with back pay.

What is this?

As long as American operates maintenance there will be a base under its control in Tulsa.
There is nowhere it can be done any cheaper.

There was never a plan to keep MCI open very long in the TWUs mind...to the contrary the TWU wanted AFW protected from any seniority wave that would come MCI being shut down...I always assumed that most knew that MCI would be shut down eventually.

Discussed that the nmb will not allow anything without a membership vote. The offer on the table, which is less than the offer on jetnet, will be pulled after january, and the next offer will be even less according to the report.
The company is taking advantage of the unwillingness of the union to allow a vote.
Actually the report says that Samuelson is the one who refuses to allow a vote and not Sito.

I can see this being true if you consider not agreeing to arbitration as “holding it up”. I’ve always said there is no way, and I agree, the TWU would ever agree to arbitration for this contract....they may prove me wrong but I doubt it.

Politically, the only thing the assoc can do to make an election closer is to sign the TA in January.
February may be too late.

I think the company will make it happen because neither wants an organization that secures a voice for the mechanics.

So if i bet the house, i would say a deal by late january but certainly before the end of February. Full retro (which actually is a concession for many), and lus keeping their health care.
If i were a mx, id still vote amfa, and im sure most still would, but it will be closer if the assoc delivers. And they definately have to deliver. This amfa drive may be the best negotiation.

The strategy to stall will incite amfa victory. They couldnt even blame amfa for the stall because the ramp is stalled as well.

No. But you can believe what you want. Its going to bee the same end game regardless.

Then don't ever question what I post again. That was just a dumb a$$ response from you for not knowing what the hell you are talking about. Believe? Dude, get a clue! Carry on with your self preserved agenda...
LOL, are you this dumb?
