American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Guess you forgot the NMB made all parties adhere to a Gag Order.

some of you are going to be surprised about LUS side in regards to an important issue.

So you remind everyone there's a gag order, and then in the next sentence imply that you have info that hasn't been disclosed.

You're talking out of your ass, or somebody on the NC isn't very discreet.

Either way, you've managed to step on a rake, yet again, Good job!

Love the rumors one says there is a TA, another says no TA.
And the thing is nobody has a real answer except the executive committee and they aren’t talking.
Don’t we all just love this BS
Thats why we need to dump the association. Absoulouyly no respect for the membership.

So if that’s true then it’s even more total BS as one should not have anything to do with the other.
To hold up money gains for your members because someone screwed up and now you have a court case just goes to show you they don’t care about us

Well, I'm sure the Members not covered by this agreement would disagree as they would probably believe they shouldn't have to bear the cost of any possible fine the Association gets assessed.

Then again, I'm sure you'll disagree that they should disagree.

They could state whether they are meeting or not. They literally left us hanging

What if there is nothing to meet over because the wait is about the Association deciding to put something out for a vote without the legal stuff going away or holding out and risk things getting worse if the proposals aren't accepted as they try to mitigate the legalities...

Very Strong Rumor (is there such a thing?) that hard copies of the T.A. were released late yesterday to various union officials, and some people I know claim to have actually seen a copy but not allowed to keep.

From what I was told, the IAM will not be happy with the T.A. as it takes, but doesn't offer much in return, in particular, the IAM health insurance plan.
Rumors are like farts, some A$$hole spewing $hit.

I dont know do you think AMFA regrets putting out the contract before the legal case was settled. You know something like this could take a while.I wonder why the company agrees to keep delaying the court case, why would they do that then turn around and take a hard line

Guilt by proxy.. Association should get its stool pushed in. Karma and all.

Well, unlike the TWU International, and I'm sure the IAM's equivalent - the AMFA doesn't have a bloated payroll, and retirement commitment to current and former sellouts. So if it means no more retirement for Jim Little or Ed Kosiatek, what goes around comes around.

Going by history, AMFA had no reason to expect the legal issues not going away after they ratified a CBA, it's what usually happened. I'm pretty sure what SWA is trying to do is somewhat unprecedented. Although airlines usually win these job action suits, the actual job action does cause disruptions and revenue loss that could never be recovered.

It seems they're trying to eliminate a job action as a tool. Although it is illegal, it is also time consuming to stop.

I think they agree to push away the Court case because they want to deal with it as a separate issue.

The airline leverage, now, is for the proposals to start going backwards which doesn't allow the Association to just kick the can down the road.

But we wont know if its going backwards. The association is definitely going to try and save their asses.its probably more important to them then the contract.I mean we could get a contract and the association could appeal the fines process would take years
