American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

there doing everything they can to erase anything aa used to do.
They have gotten rid of a huge majority of LAA management. Both the ramp and also at headquarters. I've heard stories from headquarters people that had over 30 years being shown the door. Not many LAA people left. One of the airline analysts for a major brokerage house got on Parker about that at one of the earnings calls. From what I've seen and been told, lots of new hires and kids right out of school.

Giving up more? Their payoff has already been made - as I pointed out earlier to the tune of over $20K. So let's add insult to injury? I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this cockeyed logic.

As has been pointed out many times on this forum, if this agreement comes out looking like a turd, the non card signing AMTs can only thank themselves.

They need to new younger managers for cheaper salaries to pay for the new pretty buildings at HQ.
I mean it looks nice and all but it’s expensive

I did read back a week or so ago Isom said the company would be cutting expenditures next year by 1 billion dollars.
So look for a lot more middle managers going bye bye

Who's contributing to your retirement?
I went through this with DFW Gen.AA is contributing i think 44$ a week a bit of a disparity there but i think we should all move on arguing, discussing not going to change a thing but if you want to know i dont think its fair fo us to get an extra 3 k.I thought about a guy with one year getting the same bonus as me or you and im fine with that too

But here they are not getting rid of the old ones

i have always tried to make clear my position i dont have trouble with rank and file lus employees none of this **** is in your or my control. the problem i have is with the leadership of the iam and the twu and the games they play and have played over the years. i sincerely hope we get an agreement and there are enough things in it that mechanics will finally wake up and say enough lets go our own way. thats nothing against stores or fleet, if we did i would still think it would be beneficial for all work groups to work together. maintenance i think would be better served on its own.

There is a Permanent Injunction, there is a Contempt case coming. Doesn't matter what we think, the Court has rules there was a job action.

Denying it doesn't make that go away. As a matter of fact, the Association is telling people to stop and go back to normal behavior. Why? Because the Court says there is a job action. That's why.

Same thing over at SWA, with AMFA still fighting the airline because they thought a CBA would make the legal stuff go away. It didn't.
you are correct, perception is in the eye of the beholder. we just live in the reality of the situation.

I think all unions are the same but if it would give you all peace of mind go for it .Getting your own union certainly isnt going to hurt anything but a card drive after the contract is signed is going to be tough

Here in Clt every manager they hire is dumber than the one before. The worse by far are ones they hire off the ramp. Chitty agents they make managers of, each one a company ass kisser

About 2 months ago I was working a wide body and about a dozen young girls were walking around the aircraft. We asked them, " who are you?" They told us we're revenue mgmt. A guy I've worked with knows a guy in revenue mgmt who told him he was the junior guy but now is very senior. He also said these kids don't know what they're doing. Guy was passenger service 10 yrs and revenue mgmt 10 years. You know in mergers the team running things wants their own people but these guys went over board and it shows all over the place.
