I know they did. My much much better was in comparo to what the mechanics ended up with. Pilots got snap back and other perks back after BK in the BK contract where the TWU did nothing of the sort for their groups. Sorry bout that. I was referring between the Pilots-F/A's and mechanics (as well as other groups under the TWU).

Snap-backs?

Amfa or amp need to be ready for mx.
Ive reached out to a major union to approach the ramp if the ass gets shut down. It doesnt have a "no raid" with the iam hand is a well known established union that can handle its own. It is willing to meet with ramp committees and especially interested in meeting rampers who are in leadership. It isnt seen as an airline union but has proven to be solid.
Once we see the predicament and mess after a Permanent injunction and the loss of livable functions of the Ass is when any meetings would start happening to replace the Ass.
But the union that is interested is a biggie.

My friend just bought a new Harley. He works for SWA. He used his retro money! I want 5 years of retro. I think the association will screw us in the end. Get back to the tables now! I want a contract!!!!!

Contract has been amendable for 10 months, not 5 years.

Fantasy, there will be no new talks for this year I predict, neither the Ass or the company give a damn so they prefer the members to just suffer, well not really as we have decent wages now but our benefits could be so much better.

299 days as of July 9th 2019.
I like when they say contracts don't expire, they become amenable and the terms of that past negotiated contract are probably expired if you compare to current events because it was agreed too at a different time when the economy, operational necessities and general day to day operations were inline with the prior agreement. Amenable contract is another term for looking down a bottomless pit. There is no end game. It goes on and on.

That's the Railway Labor Act, it's how they keep us from striking or engaging in a job action.

I think we should call Samuelson Cybill. In latest letter from association complains about breakdown of relationship with AA, all this after threatening long hot summer, and yelling at Isom in public setting and posting to YouTube. I think we have all had girl friends like that. Maybe next time Samuelson will throw all isoms clothes on the front lawn.

Thats true but it has nothing to do with assessments.
Local 1776 iam got sued for $850,000. Instead of being assessed, the GL subsidized the award and had the Local raise the dues substantually to the highest in our district by about $15 a month.

If the union is fined, the union will figure out a plan. And members can be assessed to increase funds. But any ruling by a judge wont place an assessment on members.

But, for a moment, are you suggesting the union would slash salaries or lay employees off?

its a good thing. It was part of my platform and im glad it might have incepted the thought. It would be nice to see total voting. It might even help some from being dues objectors.

The IAM greatly overestimates its relevance and “clout”. Any endorsement is largely symbolic and this just a way to blow more money hiring a third party pollster and create the impression their actions are driven by the will of the membership.

If the executive council actually cared about what the dues payers thought and how they could better serve the membership there are literally hundreds of other actions they could take that would promote transparency, accountability, democracy on all levels within the union.

kindly review what I said. I was referring to any permanent, not the current Temp. Got it Einstein?
Sheesh!
No sir. You referenced the current RO which is the TRO not the PRO. You are only predicting there will be a PRO which has not been ordered as of yet. Just your opinion that it will come is all at this point.

Point being, the penalty for the alleged participants in the job action in SWA lost pay because of their suspensions. They got it back, but that's was much later.

TWU suspensions are paid so that same tactic would be less effective. To be more effective, they'd pursue a Permanent Injunction, which if violated, puts more pressure on TWU because of the possible fines.

Different tactics looking for similar results.
Oh I see now what you mean. Thx for the clarification. All our members were off with no pay while on term. or susp. Did not know your members were still paid while on susp.. Now what about if your members are terminated (not on suspension?)
That's a pretty good benefit paid by a union while on susp. And your right, that would change all the dynamics of the pressures. Good point.
