American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

All the talk about "when and where directed" and ask the attrition stuff but NO ONE can point towards that language. (It doesn't exist)
That comment would have blown up the forum in the past. Now, the crickets have taken over and/or their hall passes have been suspended.

NYer, I really don't understand your point. A. It's not a moan, it's a fact...stating someone is moaning because you disagree with their perspective is well, reminiscent of the past (if you know what I mean). B. Blame the people if you will, and that's perfectly fine. It's the people who form the Association and the Association was a failure. I realize you are an Association supporter and you will defend it (the concept) no matter what. This was doomed to fail from day one in many of our opinions (from day one) and we didn't care or even know who the folks were that was going to be the voice and/or negotiators of the Association, especially from the IAM side. Our prediction, an overwhelming correct call. Of course now after the fact you can state people bad, concept good...so do we change out people and continue down this road to see if indeed you are correct? That, in my opinion is the only way to prove if you are correct. Otherwise, I was.

Finally NYer, you state that the Association is further along than we would have been if the TWU were the controlling party...how you can say that when we are now damn near the end of the process (and I use end loosely as it still may be a while) is beyond me. Obviously that is speculation on your part because you have nothing to back that comment up. I on the other hand do have a comment about the Association that has played out as predicted, and it's not a moan, it's a fact...just sayin!
Exactly right AANOTOK. It was doomed to fail. The concept of it I figure was to take care of all different groups, but that was far from what happened. Once you get down to it the two unions are going to look out for themselves, [ at least the IAM wisely did]. You have to think the TWU people involved with the creation of the Association were either very dumb or something worse than that. Now we are left wondering how this will get resolved.

Union is making it sound like AA will never hire another fleet or AMT anda lot of the language the TWU refuses is already in the IAM contract and has been.Hear of any mass layoffs on the IAM side in the last 10 years??
When the company proposal came out, it exposed Baskett and Weez as filty liars. The company "Nipped them in the bud". Weez is a blowhard but basket turned to the darkside when he got the color of money.

But yea, the language doesn't exist and the company will actually have to hire hundreds to replace any taking the buyout. I mean, since we will have all of the same work minus catering, the only way that the company can not hire is if it fills in shifts with overtime. But even if nobody takes a buyout, the amount of planes on order shows a growing company which means a lot more jobs anyways. Then you have the JetBlue rumor.

Goes to show you how misleading that whole argument was.

What information are you basing this opinion?

The fact the Association have their backs against the wall, they will probably lose the case against them on Monday and that the alleged slowdown has actually gotten worse. The last part would lead to a Permanent Injunction Order.

Under that, any further violations could lead to financial repercussions.

Best way for all that to go away? A JCBA.

Speculation on your part not based on fact or any other "inside" information?

More than speculation, this had been the historical clock on these things.

The Company, the Court and the NMB aren't going to allow a slowdown to continue.

The "insiders" these pages have been the worst predictors of what's coming.

You wouldnt be here leaking information to prepare us for whats about to occur, now would you?
You seem to be a lot more forthcoming then usual. But it would be nice if this nonsense would end.

I've always told it like it is.

1rst...You sir are just another poster without a name speculating on a "forum". I would not base any prediction about what the future holds on your postings.

2nd. What is happening now has become the new norm. Case closed..

Just sharing information, like everyone else.

NYer all our groups at SWA that said no on the first contract offer, it was a year to the next T/A.

Referring to the timing of the agreements as it relates to the Court activities. The Fleet group with the suspensions for taking DAT days and the Maintenance alleged job action.

Ok sorry I misunderstood, I hope you guys get this resolved. I hate to see maintenance guys thrown under the bus. But that's business in some unions. Good luck.
