I think you’re right. I also haven’t really heard a lot of clamoring for raises, either.

AMP is not raiding Tim. AMP is a new collective grass roots effort to start a mechanics union at AA. AMP is almost exactly like AMFA. And I would fully support AMP at AA for the mechanics, I will support any union at AA that is class and craft mechanics union period. I only throw AMFA out there now after the now looks like two successful T/A's within months at two different carriers. The big problem is that we have a bus captain as our top dog. He had no idea about the RLA and his big mouth cost us a jury trial.
I would support his big mouth if he put the twu treasury on the table but i was just notified that the twu hit panic mode and has sent word begging Mr Isom where to sign.
Isom refused to reach out so maybe the twu treasury will be gone anyways. Love it!
As far as amfa, there isnt any engagement at AA.
AMP is the union raiding. I support the AMP and/or AMFA for the mx even though i had many mx who said they want the alm constitution.
Pretty sure at minimum you guys will go as long as we did if not longer. We went damn near 7 years. Aug 16th of this year will be 7 years. On Aug 5th we will receive our first raise after 1 week short of 7 years, then about a week later we will receive our final 2019 contractual raise of 3% for a total of 23% in 2019. So if we average out the 23% over the 7 years it's only 3.3% per year of waiting. Not worth the wait IMO. We lost way more by waiting that we will never make up. Not to mention any and all gains we missed along the way in 401K's and Profit Sharing gains. Basically SWA is paying a mere .3% above what they always normally give for the long wait of 7 years, just not worth it to me. This contract will go down in history at SWA. It came very close to destroying the internal culture at SWA. Mr. Kinder will have a very long and hard road to repair after LN destroyed it over the last 7 years trying to "Take the airline back". LN tried to work us like he did the NWA guys way back when and he failed big time, as we didn't let him do it. One of the first and MUST HAPPEN steps will be for LN to be replaced and he will have to go elsewhere. There will be no repairing unless he is out of the picture, as well as a couple others being transferred somewhere else out of maint. then we can start to rebuild the relationship between mechanics and SWA.Well they will be waiting awhile imho.
Amen brother . Nickelodeon needs to go big time. He was out to destroy us and failed . I see American being 6 years or more, depends on how long management wants to play games.AMP is not raiding Tim. Tim I was just poking weezal boys buttons on what AMFA has accomplished while he sits there and belittles any and all that AMFA does.
At least now the asso. has a bar that they better be able to surpass. If the asso can not carry out at minimum the same or better than what AMFA did at SWA and now ALK, I would predict a new representational union for the mechanics at AA after contract is done. Take note how quiet he has gotten about AMFA lately. He even now brings AMFA's agreement at SWA into a lot of his discussions now. Remember when he was always belittling and down talking AMFA with all his misinformation and lies? Funny how things always turns out.

As long as Samuelson keeps openly yapping his opinion the company will show the TWU leadership is out of control in court.Amen brother . Nickelodeon needs to go big time. He was out to destroy us and failed . I see American being 6 years or more, depends on how long management wants to play games.
there is none.I'm lost.. if he doesnt say anything he's weak, if he says something he's out of control... where's the middle ground?
The middle ground would be stop with threats of shedding blood. That may give some people an erection, but it means nothing. I doubt very much that Isom & Co. are crapping in their pants because he spoke like a Jimmy Hoffa wannabe. He started off pretty good, but when the threats started, well, it did nothing but hurt the cause IMHO.I'm lost.. if he doesnt say anything he's weak, if he says something he's out of control... where's the middle ground?
Unfortunately some would be happy taking a shitty deal, then cry how the union fucked them later. There is no magic cure for ignorance. It takes work and some dont have the resolve. Its easier to ***** later.I tend to agree with you on the point of rla, but, not necessarily on Mr Samuelsen. I believe that while he may have made verbose threats, perhaps that's due to the fact he's young and may lack an old guys experience. However, it does show that his heart is in it and it seems he's drawn a line and won't agree to a "crappy deal", like so many have in the past. Perhaps we should back his "play" instead of chopping his legs off?
Completely agree. The threats are just childish. And on that note, if I owned or ran a company and an employee or union leader threatened to take my company down, that employee would no longer be an employee of my co. period. The middle ground would be stop with threats of shedding blood. The RLA will play this out. Not him and his loud mouth.
That about sums it up.Completely agree. The threats are just childish. And on that note, if I owned or ran a company and an employee or union leader threatened to take my company down, that employee would no longer be an employee of my co. period.
And the co. will use the RLA to their advantage jst like SWA management did with us. Just keep the legit write-ups, be compliant to a "T" no ones A&P is worth pencil whipping. These are different times fellas. No one can touch you as long as you just do your job and provide a very safe and efficient product for the customers of AA to fly on. And when anyone applies pressures or intimidation with job threats just pick up the phone and call FAA, they will stop that in a heartbeat. The intimidation at SWA got so bad that the mechanics had to sue the co. (and won). Not only did he keep his job, he was compensated way above and beyond his regular pay and the company was punished by FAA as well and warned not to continue their practices.
I still see you guys going 1-2 more years. Expect this ice delay to go for a few months. Then maybe, just maybe some time possibly before the end of this year there might be an offer to vote on. This first offer will more than likely get voted down, then more pauses and delays to get over the No vote and it will take approx one more year to get the second offer out for another vote, just like it happened here with the mechanics at SWA as well as our Pilots, F/A's Ramp and Stores (except Stores voted down 2 agreements). This is why I say 1-2 years more. Good luck guys, be patient, be compliant and be safe it will come to you all, jst be sure to get the full retro.
I assume still no nego's sessions set???
The line that he is drawing is meaningless under the RLA. That was my point. This ain’t the NYC transit system where they are the only game in town. Eventually he is going to get schooled because of the RLA. Of course no body wants a crappy deal. But his idea of a crappy deal may be a decent deal as far the membershipI tend to agree with you on the point of rla, but, not necessarily on Mr Samuelsen.
