American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

You're missing the point. I have seen in my area, mechanics dropping F Bombs in mixed company of females only to get pulled aside by management for a little "talk."
Personally I don't care about the F-word. But when the leadership of the company do not practice what they preach, who should any of us watch what we say.

BTW, the big candy ass that brought it up to ISOM, was a local union leader.
And if it's no big deal, then why record a supervisor yelling?

The guy recorded it to show that at least in some cities your fellow AMT’s are being harassed to sign off and get the planes back out. Obviously someone knew this guy was already a hothead and has been behaving like that before so they recorded him. Don’t be surprised if more of these videos start to come out.

And I don’t come here to work to have any POS Manager think he can talk to me like that. I come here to earn a paycheck.

Dramatic effect or legitimate passion. You do know that being released to “Self Help” doesn’t always mean we’re walking the picket line and even if times might be a little different now what happened when the Flight Attendants struck?

Back then they were pretty much all Women. Are you telling me that those Women had more stones then a bunch of Burly AMT’s?

I don’t think that’s true.
Yes the F/A's have more stones than mechanics. They dumped the TWU how many years ago?
Oh, don't forget about the pilots being ordered back to work after 5 minutes on strike.

And it means squat unless they get walked out the door.
But be prepared for more video footage of employees doing what they're not supposed to be doing.

Here's a little cut and paste for you!

Cooling-off Period
Under the Railway Labor Act (RLA), a period when parties that are at a collective bargaining impasse are prohibited from engaging in self help. In particular, when a National Mediation Board (NMB) mediator cannot break the impasse and the parties cannot agree to participate in interest arbitration, the NMB starts a 30-day cooling-off period by notifying the parties in writing that mediation has failed.
During the cooling-off period:
  • The parties can:
    • continue to negotiate; or
    • agree to arbitrate.
  • The parties cannot engage in self help.
  • A presidential emergency board may be created.
When a presidential emergency board is formed:
  • It provides recommendations to resolve the impasse through the NMB.
  • The initial cooling-off period is extended indefinitely.
If either party rejects the presidential emergency board's recommendations, a final 30-day cooling-off period begins to run.

I’m willing to bet DWH OH guys stay OT to do whatever line work they can.

Maybe that’s why GP is getting 50 line mechs assigned to DWH ramp and hgr bay. From what my buds tell me, the hangars are full at night.

It sounds disingenuous to complain about doing line work as an OH guy, when the union is getting AA to assign line mechs to do that work. Don’t forget that’s AA’s property, you just work for AA. You may not like the outcome but AA runs the airline not the association (they just collect dues). My suggestion to you, if you want line pay transfer to DFW.

What advantages does DWH have over DFW. Listening to you guys, sounds like you do a lot of line work at a cheaper pay rate. Don’t understand why you wouldn’t just transfer to DFW.

Parking is better at DWH.

The person being quoted in this memo is correct, why not continue nego's even though there is a lawsuit filed? We did. But the difference is this, AMFA filed a suit right back at SWA for not nego in good faith and other charges belonging with the suit SWA filed, so, why is it the asso. has not filed ANYTHING back against AA?? Not good in my opinion.
Still no ruling or an injunction from this issue at AA. So I will say, good luck AA in your suit...

International President

A perfect example of why you mechanics need to get into your own union for aircraft mechanics.
Wow! Out of 21 represented groups within the TWU well over half at 14 are Bus or bike companies. How sad is that???

Fricking Bus Drivers Union!
AMEN Brother!

Best info this week! Stick it to this union and bankrupt The Worst Union and the Ill Ask Management. Shut'em down! Love it!
They refuse to allow anyone to vote so F'em!
Best news of the day!View attachment 14477
Some still don't see it, sad.

Some of you need to be reminded of your station in life and what you do for a living.

The rest of us hate the way DFW and DWH treated our AFW and TAESL mechs when they were closed, too much skullduggery going on.
Amen. I will never forget that one. Total BS how all that happened. Typical industrial union rules getting changed as things move forward on that one...

Where the fuk did you get that AMFA will not accept any cards against the TWU??? No sir, do not even try that one. "AMFA WILL ACCEPT ANY AND ALL CARDS SIGNED" in order to start a grassroots effort of a card drive. Where do you come up with this shite??? Moron!!!
Because he is scared of us mechanics getting our own union. His agenda would not be accomplished. He is a paid twu troll. The twu dose nothing for amts but puts us further behind the industry but loves our dues money. I wish he would visit all aa maintenance stations and over haul bases I bet everyone would sign a card
