I respect how you would vote but obviously I wouldn’t vote yes myself.

I also think you and others have even more of a right not to have to feel forced to sell out the future just so you can leave with a little more comfort.

The whole idea just rubs me the wrong way.
WeAAz, you have to realize once people hit the 30, 40 plus year mark, they want out. You add all those years into the times we've gotten screwed contract after contract, after all the lies, after having our pensions frozen at a point where a 401k really won't make up for the defined benefit , after losing our retiree medical,
after all that has happened, people just want out.
As far as the future goes, I am perfectly content with maintaining the headcount we have today for all.
Just remember this, we were all promised things like a pension and retiree medical when we hired on.
After we are long gone, there will be further screwing in some way shape or form for the future generation. It will never stop.

Agreed. ALL was a broad stroke. But please understand this is the only site I go to aside from Jetnet for opinions, etc.
It appears to me from reading the two sites that most of the "Let's vote now" crowd comes from LAA and those that THINK they will hit the lottery with the buyout offer . I realize there are sensible and logical thinkers, such as yourself, on the LAA side. I just question the number and how a vote WOULD go.

Maybe that's because the LUS crowd is content with their contract. After two bankruptcies they already have a higher outsourcing percentage and have the cheaper medical. More holidays, etc.
They have their IAM pension. Because of what they have, they are making more than their LAA counterparts.
The longer they wait, the more they save.
And let's be honest here. The ASSociation wants to put on the united front, but they do NOT speak for members on either side. So they walk the protest line, but does anyone know what each member is worried about? What he or she cares most about?

There are 900 Utility on lay-off and probably about 1,000 - 2,000 mechanics at LUS on lay-off who have lifetime recall rights. With gaining the TWU scope it will bring work back in-house. The backshops on the second and third floor in the CLT Hangar have been closed and outsourced for over a decade. Of course the LUS aside wants to bring work back.
The company would have agreed to all the ASSociation's demands by now. Don't think a few informational pickets are going to all of a sudden give them their epiphany!
I see the liar has become unhinged again, as he was exposed once again. Just because a liar repeats a lie over and over, it doesn’t make it true.

US Airways' pact with 8,800 machinists tossed out by bankruptcy court

I sincerely hope you're not referring to me here with your liar comment. I know damn well the IAM had their contract abrogated. And I will tell you this: DON'T THINK IT CAN'T HAPPEN AGAIN! It's all about the debt, baby!
So they have 1000-2000 mechanics on lay-off.I guess they didn't their registered recall notice in the mail while they hire off the street.

Did you say someone was responsible for contracting out their whole classification?

That would be no, do you have a guilty conscience? I’m talking about the self-anointed pied piper for the members, which he is not one.

And the Association could have agreed to all the company’s demands for concessions already, but they haven’t.

Recalls don’t work that way in the IAM CBA, when your laid off you have a recall station, if the jobs posted are not in their recall station, then they aren’t recalled. They would have to change their recall station in order to be recalled.
What are you talking about? Where did I say someone was responsible?
So let's go the NWA/AMFA route or better yet the EAL/IAM route.
Either way you lose.

anyone can answer questions. Marks problem is that he refuses to enforce the current contract in any capacity. Him and another agc pushed, approved, and recommended the ua contract. While i was campaigning against it, he voted to recommend it. All of his actions are coming back to haunt us.

I wonder if anyone realized that the CBA they signed off on would not only hose UAL people, but also put pressure on labor at other carriers-including their own members at AA?

Kinda myopic, tbh.

700...contracted out his whole craft and his own job.

I’ve seen this a lot. Is this true?

Guess you forgot Weez’s post where they offered Envoy 18% cost while LAA is paying 21% and IAM LUS is paying 15%. Writing is on the wall.

Well it’s going to be a long hot summer, AA is not in bankruptcy they don’t get what they want. You all have been beaten down so much, time to get over the Stockholm Syndrome and the Concessionary mindset.
Yes, I work with quite a few EAL people to remind me every day.

No, I don’t know it.

What I DO know is that it gets you about 8000 rpm every time. THAT makes me think there’s a grain of truth to it. I’d like to be wrong though...

cool. boxing will be fun for both of us. Not into the "2 free punches". Just a clean match.
Why dont you show me where the company proposed giving up the bagroom?
tim the masses are waiting for you to take control and show us the proposal. you have had over 12 hours now where is the damn contract you promised?

Do you go onto Facebook? This is a reasonable place to get opinions from both sides.

As I recall that offer did bring up the Medical costs over time too, to 20% of the cost. The Association also put out an update about some sort of overall Wellness program or something along those lines.
