America West pilots to brethren at US Airways: Be thankful

Nice to see the Post Gazette isn't missing an opportunity to make a dig at Airways.

With out getting into the whole seniority list thing, the thing I find interesting is BOTH AWA pilots made the point that East has always been paid better and now they are down to the AWA level. Sort of low expectation there boys. How about you coming UP to the former East level, or at least trying to.

I am no psych, however, I seems deep down the Westies know this is an injustice and the only way they can justify what has happened is to live in a world of delision, "we saved you."

There might be one or two out of 1850 that feel that way.

How about us working together to acheive a great contract, and, for the rest of our careers, working our butts off to fund the contract with industry leading profit margins?

It will take us first getting the pilots together in solidarity, second, only voting in a TA that pays us what we are worth, and, third, actually doing our jobs in the most professional manner possible.

autofixer, You won't have to fly with pilots hired after a certain date if you use the no fly list option when doing preferential bidding. You will just have to spend some time typing in all of those numbers into your standing bid and then just import it each month. Simple! You will be happy and I'm sure the guys that don't have to fly with you will be happier too!

There was an injustice alright 517 of them not to mention stagnating my career for yours. My upgrade moves from 3yrs away now to about 7yrs. Yeah I got phuked saving you, that's how the vast majority feel round here.

Too bad. Your USAirways brother or sister just got their upgrade delayed to NEVER.

And YOU didn't save anyone. Remember that for the rest of your career.

Hang on hang on hang on. I just read the article. For those of you on the East, I'd ask that if any of you watch "King of the Hill," then think of the named pilot as Bobby. Enough said. Everyone's got the own USA320.

Dam, I hate hearing crap like this. We, the pilots of AWA, didn't save anybody's job and it's specious to hang it over anybody's head. I'd apologize on behalf of my brethren if I thought it would help. Every airline has pilots like this, I'm afraid. No USAirways pilot owes me gratitude or anything; we're all just pawns in this game.

Indeed sir. No individual pilot or group of such has made this entity what it is, and may hopefully yet become.....and if/when we can finally work together as smart "pawns"...we might get some decent workplace conditions and income. This scenario's very dangerous to all of us at present. I wish I had some single answer to offer up. All I can currently see is two utterly divided sets of interests working at cross purposes...pretty much a pair of rowers working opposite each other...only serving to benefit imperial "management"'s purpose and amusement, and move in inneffective circles.

So sad. It took me 11 the first time. I was a captain for 6, back to f/o for 4 and after 21 years total getting the chance to fly captain again. Now I'm behind some young punk that wants my captain seat that was hired in 98. This is crazy. Thanks that I will be able to be captain again. Some that I know will never have the chance again

BTW Don't even think about touching that radar!
