Alpa's Letter To The Afa

Jeeze ualdriver, you're making it sound like 'think' is a pretty big step for you. Maybe take some time away from this silly forum and try reading your tentative. I have and it does indeed negate the entire LOA.

You're right it does negate the entire contract. I read the tentative once, and didn't feel like reading it again as the first time around was depressing enough. Hence the use of the word "think."

Ahhhhh,

The revolt of the unwashed masses. Sort of like the French Revolution.

WOW, that "BOOMARANG" came back faster than I expected! Now the ALPA is crying "NOT FAIR!" What a bunch of crybabies! First they try to wipe out everybody's pension to save their own, and now they are crying because the PGBC did exactly what the ALPA wanted! Look ALPA either your a UNION or Management collaborators! You can't have it both ways! ALPA, you made an EVIL deal so live with it and quit crying! 😀

It's not an evil deal at all. You, like Pat Friend, are simply uninformed and have no desire to learn the facts.

OK, so how about an education on how this was not throwing everyone else under the bus?

So the AFA and the PBGC (among others) came to the same conclusion.
I would surmise that 'ALPA/UAL management team' made a slight but lethal miscalculation. The immediate actions of the PBGC took everyone by surprise and adds more confusion in this mess.

Since ALPA is asked for 18% and the AMFA M&R are being asked for 23% ( which includes outsourcing/layoffs/pay cuts/etc...) will we have the same 'sacrificial bragging rights' as do you? In all of your comments you have forgotten the huge advances that were made for ALPA after the 2000 meltdown. As I have said before, I do not begrudge any workgroup getting the best deal for their membership as long as it doesn't throw another group under the bus in the process.

I do appreciate your consideration in regards to the massive AMFA outsourcing dilemma, but your comment on the 'work ethic' issue needs some elucidation. You can't speak out of both sides of your mouth (as does the UAL Negotiating Team) without clarification.

Your claim that your 'Union' is right and we are all wrong doesn't appear to hold water.

Please justify this hypothesis!!!

Oh please, these guys haven't forgotten. Their mantra is the same talking points we've heard for the past 4 1/2 years. They repeat it enough and end up believing it. The rest of us know the truth...those on the worker side AND those on the customer side.

Yeah...then they come these message boards proclaiming how the flight attendants are whiney, dumb, fat, and ugly and have no business voting for a strike because after all, we just sit our fat asses on the jumpseat and read Cosmo...The summer of 2000 did more to destroy this great company than any CHAOS strike vote. Oh I forgot, we're not supposed to keep bringing that subject up...

I find it amazing that SOME pilots, NOT ALL, suggest that the flight attendants just sit in the jumpseat and read Cosmo and say that a female should only be there for 5 years and then find a rich husband and quit. If this is not degrading the job of a flight attendant, then what is? Maybe this pilot would feel differently if he had been a pilot on the shoebomber flight.

Funny how you folks trash the pilot group on this board, but I make one humorous comment and I get pounced upon. Very hypocritical.

As for badmouthing ALPA for their agreement, I would like to bring up one simple point: You folks each have a union that is capable of coming up with an agreement similar to ALPA's. Quit bitching and get an agreement, or maybe you are all inactive types who would rather complain than take action.

Thanks for your non-reply.
Why even post this drivel?

Why should I have to reply to you? My union speaks for me. 😉

Then have your 'Union' post, why should you bother?

Your humorous comment isn't funny. I think it reflects the contempt and disrespect you seem to have for flight attendants...

No disrespect at all, but why can you come here and trash pilots, and I can't make similar comments about F/As???????
