You are so correct in that, sir.

We finally have choice whether to make this the greatest place to work or the ugliest. I'm tired of having ugly foisted on me and would like a shot at great.

What an opportunity, a real winning lottery ticket for all, if we choose. Make no mistake, cashing that lottery ticket will take a lot of work and "turning the other cheek" but, at least, we now have a shot.

I'm ready.
That opportunity to make it great has been available all along, but many of the people here have chosen not to take it. The ugly actions and behavior was not forced upon anyone, it was all done by choice. In fact, I think it's far more likely that it's only going to get worse over the short term. It remains to be seen if the formerly sore losers on the East side can be gracious winners or if they will continue their boorish behavior.

Let’s hope matters move quickly—the real lawyers and negotiators are waiting in the wings in PHX with the lawsuit.

Do what you think best.......That is kinda' the whole point of democratic proceedings.

It is time to extend the olive branch, and begin the process of conciliation. You can all waste your time and considerable resources paying huge attorneys fees for a very long time, all the while fighting amongst yourselves. Or... you can all start working for the common good of all the pilots. You must figure out a way to keep the egos in check, move forward, and begin fighting the real enemy- Parker, Kirby, and Glass.

Amen sir. None of us, by any of our choices, was dealt this merger "hand" to play. One truly magnificent attribute of our species is the ability to "forgive and forget" and get on with life... towards mutual satisfaction...or at least, survival. We've still a huge gulf, fully worthy of Grand Canyon flyovers to bridge. Almost an entire year, filled with mutterings of mutual contempt, has passed. This will take some earnest soul-searching on all our parts. I wish no ill on the west pilots/people..despite any/all aggravated insults from either side...including my own of course.

Well, no secret that this was not my preferred outcome for the West pilots. But at this time it is appropriate to congratulate the efforts of the East.

I will also say THANK HEAVENS there is finally a decision and both sides can move forward with the real work of implementing Nicolau or shelving it forever, once and for all. That being said, it will be very interesting to see what happens now with the Nicolau award. There has been much speculation on how this will play out. Now we will finally find out. No more posturing.

I don't think that the East will have such an easy time getting the end result that you want. We will now see who has the best lawyers, but this is only the beginning. USAPA is bound by the CBA currently in place, and can not undo binding arbitration. I think the celebration should be postponed until the lawsuits have run their course. If you truly end up with a DOH integration and are able to steal the jobs and job security the West brought, then you can claim victory and break out the champaign. Until then, this was only one of many battles to be fought.

I am still confident that the West pilots and their lawyers will navigate these waters with skill. IMO they have been prepared for this eventuality from the beginning.

Good luck to you all.

So the East won the vote eh , just as I predicted , congratulations , your determination to get things done is an inspiration to every union out there .

767jetz,
Go ahead take a jab, nobody cares what the greedy United pilots think. Hey good luck to you -- your ALPA union dues just went up to make up for the yearly 12 million dues that were just voted out the door. C-ya.

"There has been much speculation on how this will play out." Yes indeed..and; yours has been 100% wrong..what's your point now? ;)

Thanks for your two-edged BS once again....BTW: That's properly "champagne" ..sheesh!..isn't literacy even the slightest requirement for flight anymore?

Now that US Airways has "blazed the trail", I wonder what airline will be next to boot ALPA? If they're smart, they ALL will!

It's what they get for calling themselves a "national union" without national policies, like , for instance, a merger policy.
