All unions must eventually support ALPA

The reason the pilots didn't strike was that we had JUST SIGNED a very concessionary contract, and seen hundreds of OUR FELLOW PILOTS put out on the street due to the economic condition of the company at the time, and rather than participate the IAM chose, just like recently, to ignore the problem and demand more. what happened was you guys became scabs....like or not what trade unionists who support the afl-cio call it SCABS.
SCABS SCABS SCABS

This topic brings back memories of the early and mid 60's. Allegheny (now U for you younger folks) hired a group of flight engineers from Eastern Airlines to work as mechanics. Didn't some union problem happen at Eastern between the pilots and flight engineers at that time ? I seem to recall a problem of some type. Anybody old enough to know?

Dark Cloud-- I remember at some point a flight engineer had to go ahead and get all of their pilot ratings. Some could not or would not so i dont remember if this is the time or not.

]]So let me get this strait....everyone worked at usair except iam during THEIR strike and got paid. Right? Yet you envious pilot haters single them alone out as scabs. Huh?

diogenes is right.

The company is going to get their way no matter how united the Unions are. We can file as many grievances as we want but Dave's proven it time and again he's going to get concessions one way or another.

Tugslug, Dave didn't take what he wanted, we gave it to him and that is why he has what he has. Plus I doubt if Diogenes actually implied that Dave was going to get it one way or the other.
Are you saying that the employees sacrifices wouldn't have mattered?

The IAM hasn't helped matters for us either. They have reduced theirselves down to a company mouthpiece.

Have you looked into the EAS program? You are so focus on this 1992 thing. That was 10+ years ago and it seems time to move on.

Just wondering, do you hold an A&P?

Can I get you something? Coffee, tea, PROZAC?

Move on with your life Biffeman. Nobody CARES!

Fact: ALPA never called a strike in 92
Fact: ALPA pilots did no struck work.
Fact: ALPA had a contract and lived up to it.
Fact: You need to get over this grudge and start dealing with the problems you have some control over. Don't we have enough junk going on around here without you looking back over a decade to find more? Your not helping yourself or anyone else with this line of reasoning Biffeman.

Ease up dude!

Hi guys, might as well weigh in.

For concessions part I and II, Dave wanted 'consent.' 'Buy-in' is useful; the victim will stand still for the 'procedure' longer. Had he not got it, I suspect U would have gone the route UA is going down - give or liquidate.

Going forward, there will be no need for 'consent' - force majuere will suffice.

A320, if people did not care anymore then has this thread reached several pages now?

And I think you should stick to flying planes then trying online pyschiatry.
