Aircraft maint issues

I agree. Sometimes I wish I was in the room myself to know exactly what’s going on even though I do mostly side with my Representatives.

I’m 100% sure that the Company wants to put trap door/ fine print language into our Contracts.

It’s natural that they would want that.

I don't think we will see anything until we get to a vote, to me that is the most frustrating. If we have already TA'd most of these articles, let me see them. If there is a change to any of them before we vote just put out an addendum, the lack of information is where most of the distrust stems from.

I absolutely blame the union for this, they are supposed to work for me. I PAY THEM!!

Find me any Union out there in any industry who releases details of what’s only been agreed to “so far” and is always subject to change until it becomes an agreement in principle to pass on to the Membership for a vote.

You won’t find one.

The reason why is the incredible chaos it could cause when people only see pieces of a puzzle and don’t get to see the full picture.

And we all pay them. Not just you.

Send an Email to your vice president of Tech ops, they would probably happily provide the information. SWA started putting out emails everytime the company and AMFA met two years ago. Of course AMFA had a fit and accused the company of going around the negotiating committee, but we knew where the company position was, instead of trusting what the Union told us they said. Try it, you guys have nothing to lose.

As a lead I do better than that, and very greatfull . But I also know to achieve that we contract out 80% of the work. Teamsters understood that, and so did Herb. AMFA is playing hardball for more numbers to increase their money, nothing else.

Well, yeah! Doesn't more money mean more jobs?

Are you anti-job?

I want you all to notice how WeAAsles dominates this thread. It is one thing for a non mechanic to comment from time to time but he is absolutely DOMINATING this thread.

Ever wonder why?

I highly suggest you collectively put this fool on ignore and send him packing.

You couldn't knock down a bop bag.

Never anti job, but everyone here always wanted more money, and the overtime. Well to keep that, stuff was allowed to be contracted out to achieve that. The company's position is if you want more money, we need international outsourcing, to pay for it. Preserve the same numbers of mechanics, and not furloughed or work comes back in house like we have always had in scope. Keep the 24 hour rule, increase the money a little bit, and it probably pass. However AMFA wants numbers, and money just like all unions do. So that's where we are at.
