Its no rumor that Peterson is in the room now, and it is certainly no rumor that Lombardo went off the deep end in front of AA and the IAM yesterday. Check with your own President. AA management is embarrassed for us over Lombardos outburst - how embarrassing is that ?

Maybe he was unwilling to give into concessions from the company, IAM and even his own negotiators who felt it was necessary to get a JCBA. Totally don't know, just throwing chit out there. If someone does have details, fire away!

I dont disagree on some of the things mentioned. But lets be honest with ourselves, they are bringing in some overhaul but still outsource a lot more than AA. So im not sure because you've outsourced everything and now you get a little back that it should be looked at as a good thing.

Regarding pay, i believe SWA is currently making less than AA.

Also, any union did good under the old SWA because the company was willing to bargain. This is not so much the case with the new group. This is an important piece of the equation.

On the plus side, they do have a much better 401k match and medical benefits.

TC, I would think that any incoming maint. is a good thing. Yes we do outsource more than AA, always have and it's been pretty steady at 65-75% of maint. not maint spend.
AA is above SWA currently after you guys received the bump from Parker when the union agreed that both sides can work each others metal. Now AA, Delta and United are above SWA.
We will see how this week goes after (hopefully) a full week of nego's about the mechanics. Probably won't have any kind of an update until sometime next week from either side. Good luck to you in your nego's and I hope you guys get what you want as well as restored.

Well, if your rumor is true, emphasis on "if", one would wonder why Lombardo would do that. From my experience with what happens in negotiations when the International steps in - nothing good for the membership! My guess is Lombardo wants us to accept less, and maintain dues payer headcount. While Peterson and the rest - are holding the company accountable. Lombardo needs to be extracted ASAP!

I hope you guys at sw get full retro show the company it's in there best interest not to let the contract wait as long has they have slowed your contract cost down. At least you have a maintance union . You don't have other groups on your tail .

Well if your "rumor" is true I'd love to know the story of what or who made him snap? Were any of those TWU Officers themselves acting in any particular manner in front of management that illicited the response?

I'd rather get more to the story of this "rumor" before I start using any type of over the top word such as disgrace myself.

There are a few members on these boards that if I met in person I'd probably scream at myself actually.

Maybe Lombardo just realized he can't sell the IAMPF to his membership and his promised
lake lot next to Jim Little's just sailed off into the sunset.

It is not the first time he did that, but the first in front of the company.
I tried to insert the scene from the Godfather where Sonny gets schooled by
his dad after questioning him in a meeting with a rival, he did it after the meeting
was over!! But I could not download the clip.

IF they are trying to screw us?? Do you have any experience under this "Union"? They (AA and the TWU) have been dividing and screwing us since 2003 so why would you believe any different this time around.

They will do it to us again the only difference this time is the Base Maintenance people will get the shaft and that is why Peterson is in the room.

Question: Obviously it seems like you trust Gary Peterson. What if Gary one day winds up going to the ATD? What if he became King of the Hill International President?

You just turn your trust off whenever someone gains a different title? What if you gained a title? Should I start calling you a sellout?
