Aircraft maint issues

Big jets feel sorry for you guys. I swear it feels like we will never get a raise. But that's the hand we are delt, when people do not think and vote in anger.

I’m more disgusted with the amount of airline CEOs we have in the breakrooms and in Facebook. Like that LUS air guy at LAX telling Isom he can offord to pay his health ins not even thinking that the rest of the company about 80k strong would expect the same ins

Or that the New AA should be held responsible for all our personal financial responsibilities.

Same at SWA, they can pay all this money, we need to be the highest paid mechanics. I learned a long time ago I have two things, my seniority, and what I get paid. It's my union job to sale the package and you get a raise and move on. If they don't then you end up in our situation and you take 7 years or longer to get a contract. Totally and absolutely ridiculous. I would rather have my scope and a smaller raise. Than no raise.

An update from some UPS AMT's. Their contract offer for their Mechanics was voted down. 95% voted, 59 or 60% voted No. Not sure of reasons why but we will find out soon enough. As far as their $ offer was somewhere in the hood of 65-68 per hour I do believe.

The LUV is over at SW, the founders have moved on and the days sitting around the campfire singing Kumbaya and getting raises is done.

No organization representing airline ground workers and especially Maintenance is doing any better than your AMFA in this cost neutral era.
Don't get me wrong as I understand your position on the no vote and agree somewhat but what I do not understand is your constant bashing of your representative while at the same time touting the TA and how it should have been voted in.
I would trade Representation with you in a minute.

You just hit the nail on the head, on representation. UPS, mechanics in the $60s and they said no. You guys complain about your representation you guys are above us by $6.00 an hour, and we have the mighty AMFA. My problem is my union has no game plan except get people to say no, and wait on the company. We have no leverage just like you guys don't.

dude i would be more then happy to trade representation with you right now.

You are misinformed, it does count as outsourcing.
Maybe so to association members but in reality it's AA people doing work on AA equipment just like we do in the states. That's how mediators and arbitrators will probably look at it. We are in deep trouble. The association is trying to save union dues and they tell us the priority is saving jobs. Hard to prove outsourcing when they are on the AA payroll wearing an AA uniform.

Yes. And he has no clue about what you just said. He's brainwashed to the max. Pls try to find a way to forgive him.
Why is that because I threaten your way of thinking. Just because you think AMFA is doing a good job, doesn't mean that I do. I see how much money we lose everyday. SWA is like alright they said no, so we save everyday. It plays into management hand when we believe our Union. It's just like the American guys working on each others metal and now they are stuck. Their pilots have leverage , we do not have leverage at SWA. If you like a craft union over an Industrial union, great. I don't because for what I pay for in dues I see Zero results.
