Aircraft maint issues

That doesn’t matter. What are the revenue streams today and the size of the operation also to compare the differences in employee counts.

Not to mention the fact that they are over time going to whittle those numbers down.
Like I said, I am not saying give up, but it is obvious the company would want to go with the LAA plan. when You more than triple in size, it's all about the cost to the company, not the employee.

I have to agree with this post. All we hear coming from the LUS side is their concern about their healthcare premiums and IAM pension. No outcry about more outsourcing. Just that they do not want to pay more for healthcare. To hell with the LAA people.

Keeping yourselves purposely divided is how you almost guarantee that neither side can win.

And what bothers me the most is that Management has a nice warm hand in this.

You do realize that this has survived 13 years so far while every other group didn’t have it?

You do know it’s a $6,500 hit for some at LUS?

And what everyone else has is not a reason for it to be given up.

What concerns me more is that the LUS medical issue AND the IAMNPF are becoming the hotter issues with this contract. I do not want them to become major trade issues between themselves.

I'll say it again. It's because there are now more than triple the employees LUS had. Not saying it is right, but this is why they want the LAA plan.

Yea but Metal you’re not taking into account their current financials. They’ve spent 10 Billion Dollars on share buybacks.

They ABSOLUTELY can afford some decent improvements and not the joke of an offer Johnsen spit out to us.

So given a choice, would the average LUS employee agree to way more outsourcing in order to save the current medical? Just a hypothetical here.

No they’re not. All the issues are HOT issues. As a matter of fact if we numbered them I’d say the outsourcing is # 1?

No one on the TWU side is going to be forced into the IAMNPF.

Stop believing and fostering rumors.

Your TWU is supporting the issues, both sides are unified more now than ever.

No argument here. But I am just stating the obvious as to why they would want the LAA medical over the LUS.
Look how much the upper echelon receives in compensation. That should explain lots!

Why do we (honestly) have to keep talking concessions?

And yes I know this question was for Watcher but why do we even want to give the Company the hypothetical?

They do read these boards you know.

Right...It's in the ASSOCIATION Q&A THAT STATES WE WILL NOT BE FORCED INTO IT. You know, the same Q&A that said we get to vote on the association.

There will be no horse trading.

Why are you and others in concessionary mode?

We kept it during several times US was on the brink of Chapter 7, they have had several opportunities to try and get it back.

AA’s lead negotiator is the same person who agreed to it each time and so was Doug.

And they also want me to make minimum wage and be happy about it too I’m sure. But that’s not going to happen any time soon.

Who said I am in concession mode? You seem to have a hard time understanding why the company wants the LAA medical...It is simply because the workforce more than tripled over the LUS numbers. That's all I said. Never said I accept it or like it.
