Airbus Ruling

would just like to say congrats to my fellow AMT brothers at usair, though this decision may not help stop the loss of jobs you guys stood your ground and WON! the decimation of aircraft mechanics jobs in this country will come back to bite the airlines in a big way!

Sadly, the IAM won't see a dime of the damages to make them whole. I'm sure this is pre petition, and they will get pennies on the dollar for whatever award they get. Plus, they still have NO LEVERAGE IN CH11 vs the judge. This is superficial at best. It does make the mgt look bad, but they will get what they need from the judge.

And 700UW is bloating the figures, I heard it costs almost half of the $500k he quoted...still haven't heard any comparisons on how much it costs in house...ie how much they think they are saving???

If the IAM doesn't get the table quick, the 320s and the 330s will be gone thru Mar 05. They need to act quick to save the mechanics' jobs, the judge will be merciless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

US AIRWAYS SIGNS MAINTENANCE CONTRACT WITH ST AERO FOR 10 AIRBUS AIRCRAFT

Singapore - 09 Oct 2003 – Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aero), the aerospace arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering (ST Engg), announced today that its subsidiary, ST Mobile Aerospace Engineering (MAE), Inc., has signed an agreement with US Airways to perform heavy maintenance work on its fleet of 10 A319 and A320 aircraft. The work is expected to commence this quarter and will be completed over 3 months. The agreement is approximately S$10 million.

This agreement is not expected to have any material impact on the consolidated net tangible assets per share and earnings per share of ST Engg for the current financial year.

"MAE has a proven track record for heavy maintenance work for a significant number of major commercial airlines and cargo carriers. We are honoured that US Airways has selected us in view of our experience in the A320 and performance records. This is a tribute to the quality work performed by MAE employees."

$10,000,000.00 SGD converts into $5,940,005.97 USD

10 planes at $5,940,005.97 = $594,000.597

Please explain to me how my figures are wrong.

Congradulations to the IAM on a hard fought, and just victory. AMFA, take note what union stood up to airline management.

700UW it's your day, no doubt. I sincerely hope it works out for you guys. After all the crap they dropped on everyone this is truly sweet.

To jack mama: Go piss on someone else's party.

To David Castelveter: I always thought of you as a class A Ice Hole and your latest BS proves it.

Machinists Win US Airways Airbus Arbitration

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) today
announced a major victory over US Airways in a year-long dispute over subcontracting heavy maintenance of the airline’s Airbus aircraft.

Congratulations!!!
Best of luck to us 'ALL'!!!

Take Care,

Congratulations!
Just think. If the company had delayed another day or two they could have asked the pilots to make up the difference. They probably will in the next round.

Congrat Again

Great News!!....All of us in the IAM knew the answer to this one LONG AGO!!!!! HOWEVER..... We are in BK, and I don't trust ANYONE in this Mngmt team!!! As far as a monetary settlement..... FORGET it!!! I just have a bad feeling that this MAY.....Just may be, a hollow victory, unfortunately :( This poster seems to think this management team will stop at nothing to achieve their means. I hope I am wrong on this one... but for now lets at least let the smiles on our faces last until the grim reaper shows his ugly head once more!!

BUS WORK

Read the LAST "couple paragraphs". . . . .

Sorry but I must add this:

Looks like the “painful clauseâ€￾ just did a 180!

Guess I was wrong with this event. The IAM stills has teeth, sharp ones.
