Afa News

Look like you are going to take a 15% cut. But since there was a temporary 21% cut, won't this be a 6% raise when it goes to only 15%?

A possible nationwide AFA strike would be a disaster, just look what happen to the AA pilots when they played games in 1999. I fully understand the implications of the process, but think cooler heads must prevail.

Stay at the table, talk until your blue in the face and then present your side to the judge.

AFA is posturing and trying to generate public support for the flight attendants and, hopefully, give the F/As some hope that someone is at least trying to look out for them. Leadership knows a strike will put both UA and US out of business in short order. And, both carriers represent a large portion of its members.

Please.... enough is enough... where do I show up with my picket sign???!???! Good luck to all...............

Sisters and brothers...The day the company filed for the second time I was on here calling for you to unite and bring it to the people....there is no other way than striking....show the a...hole in Bamavania that you have had enough...SHUT IT DOWN...I know there will be naysayers who claim this is not the route to be taken but they have everything to lose and you have nothing....YOU HAVE NOTHING!!!!...you will show this f.cker your power once and for all....Peace people...there is life on the other side.
Condi for Prez. Colin for Prez. We are being worked by the system...WAKE UP!

of course it will never happen, but the only way these guys will listen is to shut the whole thing down...Re-regulation anyone? screw jet blue and america west...when will it stop...

First let me say, AFA is grasping. Along with other unions who feel that this is being done to break their back. Regardless, AFA doesnt have a choice here. They are doing nothing than making it seem as if they are fighting the fight, in reality our reps know theres little they can do. First and foremost, the majority of F/a s would have to vote. If that past , the day the strike happened, the strike would have to be carried out. The majority of f/a s would prob vote to strike, but would not actually strike. Im one of them. I believe there no positive outcome in this possible strike. A union is only good, when there can be a positive outcome. There is none here.Regardless of what has happened in the past, management not with standing, we are where we are. People are free to leave or stay , no on e is holding you here. Your not entitled to have a job at us and nor am I. The majority of employees do not feel the depth of passion as do the few that post on here. If they did, they would be posting, and screaming loud and clear. Is anyone happy. NO! Most are on the line, working hard for their families. Reality has a way of playing itself out, bash me all you want, reality is reality, plain and simple.....

If we stick together now, we will all be stuck together on the UNEMPLOYMENT LINE!

That maybe true - I fully expect that to be honest with you. However - if WE as a union - do not stick together and stand up for ourselves - just who do you think will be left to do it for you?
This is an unprecedented moment in history. Doesn't anyone see that? Do you understand that if the judge rules to abrogate the contracts - then the unions have just lost a major battle? That any strenghth the unions had in negotiating a fair contract for current and future members (of ALL UNIONS) has been reduced to nothing? WE just went back a 100 years. We, in one moment in history, just unvalidated the lives of those before us who gave up their lives so we could have a union!
flibo -
HOW DARE YOU BE THAT SELFISH! HOW DARE YOU BE THAT RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL. IF it wasn't for the sacrifices of those brave people - you wouldn't have had the life you have become accustomed to. YOU wouldn't have had the protection of the union to negotiate fair working conditions, pay and protect the interests for all f/a's.

YOU ARE BLESSED TO HAVE THE UNION YOU HAVE! I wish our union president would have done the same thing.

I could many part of this paragraph in the perspective if a terrorist meeting. They feel similar to the way you write. They believe now is the time to stand up for their cause and they are also willing to kill themselves for a belief even though they know it will only kill them.
