Following 9/11, I was one of the "terminated" employees. After replying "yes" to every recall letter and not having enough seniority to actually be recalled, I am now back online...things have definitely changed at this airline. One of the subjects that seems to continue to repeat itself, not only here, but also at the workplace, is the issue of reserves and blockholders. I for one, believe that the ability to hold a block and have some choice in schedule is indeed the privelege of those who have already paid the price. I get so tired of listening to the moaning and groaning of "this is just not fair". Yes it is. We live in a society where people want to have all of the best without earning their way. What is most disheartening, is the demise of this company, obviously very evident in the attitudes of the employees. And at times, myself included. I have only been back for a short time, and it seems like most everyone I fly with, is broken, disheartened and feeling disconnected. This job is difficult all by itself, with the crazy schedules...etc. We all understand that or we would not have come in the first place. I see this company losing the most important asset they have. The hearts of their employees. People need to be validated, encouraged and complimented from time to time. I owned my own business for 20 years before coming to US. Writing complaints on 4x6 cards or emails is not sufficient. The photos showing the working conditions is better. Mangagement will have serious issues to face if and when photos like the ones shown start showing up in USA Today. It is a travesty. Banding together as a united force only works successfully if complaints turn into solutions. "Without a dream, the people perish". To those crewmembers who have shown me patience and consideration as I step back in, I thank you. There have been many of you.... I have appreciatied it and think y'all are the BEST!!!

Welcome back!! It's not as bad as the debbi downers here would have you think. It's just different. As far as reserve, fasten uour seatbelt and get ready for the bitter rsv's to do battle with you.

Welcome to USAviation and back to US.

This discussion of reserve vs. block holding appears to be a labor related issue. There are individual threads for labor issues already in existence. Please use the AFA thread to discuss this further if you are a F/A or the pilots thread to continue the discussion if you are a pilot.

Thank you.
