787 Pics

Looks much like any other modern jet airliner to me.

The only really distinctive-looking modern airliners, IMO, are the B757, the B747, and the A380.  And, I'm not even sure of the B757 vs. the A321.

I once heard of this exchange between a pilot and an Express ramper when the then-new CRJs started coming online:

Pilot: "How do you like working the new Canadair jets?"

Ramper: "It's just another damn airplane."

Please tell me your not talking about the B767-200? That was referred to as the dump truck compared to the - 300. I've flown both.

Well, I haven't flown the -300.  So, should I just say how tremendously impressed I am with such a level of experience as yours?  Do they get a red carpet out on the jetway when you go flying, too?
Actually I've flown all three 200,300 and 400 . And unlike usair pilots no red carpets or anything. American pilots would have known the difference.

The 787 nose certainly resembles a CRJ's nose.   I assume there's some aerodynamic benefits to such an unconventional appearance.

The 787 looks different, but nowhere near as FUGLY as the A380.

autofixer,
Actually it is the A380/747-8 killer. The A380 and 747-8 economics of moving more over a given distance than two aircraft was based on competing with the older twin engine airliners. Now with the reduced weight and better engines of the 787 and A350 those operating cost advantage is wiped out. It is much easier to fill a 787 or A350 then a monster like the A380 and an airline has much more operating flexibility.
