The "brain-trust" in Tempe just refuses to believe that people will actually book away from US because of our inferior product.

And, with the key exception of the frontline employees, it is inferior...all the way around.

Yes....sadly.

here's my beef.

You know....why is it management wants to find the ABSOLUTE bottom rung that pax will hold on to to run the company at?

Why?

If I ran a company, I'd do whatever I could to PREVENT active booking away. And here's why;

We hear it every day, "...we are all fighting over every passenger we can get to fly on us, and accordingly, we can't raise the fares even $5 or we'll lose them...."


OK...let me get this right....we pull the 500 lb IFE out (we still SELL $5 headsets...and just pray that row works...) but we can't put powerports in the new planes since that is what we are leaving pax with...their OWN IFE...

Ummmm OK.
