267 shares? What a joke!

AMT here with 1986 occupational seniority. I received 259 shares, gross on my paystub reads $10,440, they took out a whopping $4,600 in taxes!

Very confusing!
I go to my JP Morgan online account click on common stock link and it shows 279 shares under employee plan stock "My Shares"..On this same page I click on view account next to employee grants and awards and it takes me to Computershare site Now I click on Grants and Awards here my restricted awards summary shows 1 share issued on Aug. 2 2013 and 450 issued on Dec. 9 2013..451 shares?? But I'm only getting 279!

you taxes are taken out of your original shares.

451 shares chopped down to 279 and 10,000 added to my YTD taxable and possibly Cap. Gains when sold on top of JPM Fees.... This Sucks!

Wont even cover the 15 weeks of Vacation we gave up. Pitiful.

Heard Parker already made $14 million. Not bad for a days work.

"Employees will Benefit from Greater Job Security and Growth Opportunities"

Rough translation; If you want to make decent money you have to move into upper management like us because the money to pay our outrageous pay is coming from you.

USAir Maintenance here....offered a piece of cake.......$$$=000 !!!
I think I would rather have your Holidays , Vacation and OT than this one time payment that doesn't even cover the Vacation we lost.

Federal income tax withholding on payments like this is a mandatory 25%.   Congress and the IRS don't trust that the recipients will have the money to pay the taxes on April 15, and this helps make sure that the money is there.

Plus FICA plus Medicare, which totals another 7.65%.   On top of that, your state might have mandatory withholding (if it has an income tax).    Just like all other income tax withholding, you may get some of it back next year when you file your 1040.

In all likelihood, you will receive another 450 shares in 120 days.   If other non-employee creditors get more stock than planned (as a result of their disputed claims), then all the employees will get even more stock.   As AA Tulsa Mechanic pointed out, the difference between 451 and 279 are the shares held back for tax withholding.
