Got to learn how to say " 'merra-kin" with the correct inflection.
Are they going to put American stickers over the USAirways on the remaining fuselages?
I can see where they missed a spot. ;)

Hey fellow west union pilots brothers and sisters, we have this new f/o pilot mitch vasalino that is on probation, let's put him in charge of our destiny with the US Airways pilot merger.

No more "cactus" callsign.

That call sign was terrible in Europe. The French controllers had a hard time with it. They just could not pronoun the word. The change was not well thought out by the office dwellers. Many controllers would just resort "Alpha, Whiskey, Echo 711". I will certainly be happy to be rid of it. What matters most, however, is what is on the paycheck.

west flying in Australia and Bangkok, there were no controller complaints about the call sign.  Sometimes they flew below the radar though.

And of course, there was always the inevitable jokes about pricks and cactus. I remember once, long before our merger, I was told that ground was trying to get an AWA aircraft to move because he was holding up other aircraft. Someone finally came up on frequency and said, "That just goes to show that, on a cactus, not all the pricks are on the outside."

Well, well, well aren't we little miss sunshine? When the Cactus callsign goes away, I'll bet you'll find something else petty to whine about.

Actually, I'm looking forward to the Westies having to say "American 123, USAirways livery" on the radio! Oh the horror, the inhumanity........it will be great to see the Catus back in the desert where it belongs!

Come on, Goose who cares about the callsign. Aren't there bigger issues to tackle?
I have no problem with the American callsign.

Awesome -- good riddance to US Scareways, stay out of PHX

I think Phoenix is ready for a change for the better ;)

I really agree that Phoenix is ready for a change for the better,  but do you think AA can fire all your west pilot a**holes?
Fire us for what? Doing our jobs. I know you are a short-timer here. Do us all a favor and retire early. We don't need people like you on this property.
