Word is now the company is pretty upset at the ballot results, they feel they gave us way to much with a 65% yes vote, I'm sure they were going for a 51 to 53% yes vote.

Well we can all rest easy now, Wilson will now address the "shortcomings" in the JCBA we just signed.

For myself?...Well, guess I'd best get on with the business of figuring out how best to spend the minor stipend of additional chump change I'll now see...Very sadly, at the expense of those who will deal with the wisdom of their recent decision for many, many years to come.

No matter anymore, I suppose. Well, whatever else is true; all were able to vote and what's done is done, and I sincerely wish the very best to those with hopefully, many years yet to go.
Chump change? You are in serious need of a reality check. Or maybe you come from privilage, I don't know. But your statement is an insult to many that would do practically anything to have what you have.

Who's word? Was that directly from senior management or the junior lawyers and negotiators that hold the CLT and PHL rep positions?

Yep, Jerry overshot and gave too much.

Wilson's 'shortcomings' is better understood when you realise he is speaking of the Company's interest.

Scope will be next.  Delta pay for the E195 to let Envoy fly the E190 maybe?  The game goes on.

What would Parker do if he lost his buddies, the APA?
Set contractural terms as he sees fit and change them as necessary.
My brother worked at non-union Republic and the rules changed monthly.
Ask any teacher in NC how they fare without a union vis-a-vis their counterparts in Ohio, PA, and NY.
Why do the Boeing machinists put up a fuss about moving to 'labor-friendly' South Carolina?
If you understand what is meant by "Right-To-Work" laws, you should be afraid of what is coming in the future.
But if you are a registered Republican, I don't want to hear you whine when the day comes.
Cheers.

Wow, the company is upset that you guys voted yes on a contract they offered.
And I thought I had heard it all!

I've always respected your same stance on never selling out our "young" to the nic obscenity nyc, and at this point; I'm thinking you had/have a better handle on this group's essential dynamics, and can now at least understand your Yes vote, while I'm sadly more of the admittedly Don Quixote sort it seems. Those that will be here for many years yet will have to "fight" their own "battles" as they then see fit.  I guess we're just left with figuring out what to do with the extra coins now passed to us before we exit.

Best wishes for a long, healthy life and a fine retirement when that day comes brother. ;)

Looking at the vote, it certainly appears that the "youngsters" on our soon-to-be integrated seniority list had little problem with the "sky is falling down" scenario.   They realize that having this money now to sock away is better than hopes pinned on the outcome of  a drawn-out battle to prove that the APA's is bigger than Parker's.

Happily for those who will be here for decades to come, their ranks are evidently filled with realists.

Best wishes for a lengthy, healthy future filled with happiness and prosperity.

What would Parker do if he lost his buddies, the APA?  Who would sell the contract concessions for him?  Who would play bad cop good cop with him against the peasants?    Unions employee far too many carpet baggers to ever shut them down.   The perpetual "fight" (as choreographed as it is) provides too many profit opportunities.  There will always be unions.

Who will parrot phrases like "regressive offer", "negotiations are over", "live to fight another day", "the time value of money", "management doesn't trust us", "We asked.  They said, no."  "We wrote another stern letter to management.."  And of course my favorite bobble head quote, form the bobble head in chief...."Now that we voted Yes to accept all of management's concession demands, its time for management and us to work together on making improvements to all of our QOL concerns."

The show must go on, because it makes riches for the "more equal".
You know damn well that without this merger, you'd still be on LOA93. $125.00/hr top of scale CAPTAIN pay. You eastholes always feel you deserve more. The APA looks like a group of Rhodes scholars compared to USTUPID. Your pay has doubled because of the APA. You were at deaths door before America West bought you arrogant idiots. Be thankful.

Hi Guys,
Talked with Courtney other night after day one of the preliminary arbitration in DC. He was on a 32 hour layover on the 75 in BWI. Took the train to DC to witness the first day. He said it went well and that Bill Wilder was very polished and professional. Said other side was unorganized and resorted to outright lies (Mitch Vasin) to tilt their side of the story. Courtney said in the beginning, the arbitrators stated that they would not be rehearing the case that was previously before the courts and previously adjudicated.

Thought I would just pass that along. As you can see, Courtney is on this email - so you can ask him particulars and maybe he could provide an update.

Happy Holidays to all of you. Look forward to seeing all of you in the new year.

You can remember Courtney had a 32-hour layover in BWI.
