I'm guessing .........58% yes. 42% no.
I hope you're right.  Imagine telling your wife and kids that you turned down almost $50,000 this year (Additional salary and DC Plan contribution) in hopes of possibly getting something nearly as good next year, maybe. So many things could happen between now and then, whether it is another terrorist event, or oil prices, or the economy, you name it. This is big money, a sure thing, on the table now!

you could have anything you want at any time, just takes backbone.

Backbone, huh?  I think we would have as much success with buying 15000 pairs of ruby slippers and clicking out heels together three times.

Do you have "To Dream the Impossible Dream" as your ringtone, too?

I don't know if you are East or West and I don't care. As long as you get the info, make a decision based on the info provided by the APA which is not East or West driven, go with it. I was a no and decided to change to a yes after making a decision on the information provided. You are correct, there are a lot of factors, keeping in mind that an airline recently emerged from difficulty. AA is in a perfect position to go to Delta + in the not too distant future.

"Regardless of what Delta does with PS, an American pilot will lag substantialy behind their Delta counterpart in respect to total compensation and QOL benefits.

Remember this, Delta pilots will most likely be in their SECOND or THIRD contract while you will still be working under an industry lagging contract thru 2019 or beyond. United will also be in their second. Below is an excerpt from Delta's 2014 analyst call."

Subject: Re: An MD-80 DAL Pilot Compensation for 2014

This information came from a US Airways F/O who is married to a Delta pilot.  The information should be used as a comparison to what you are being offered by the management proposal.  Kind of eye watering.....

Married to one for 18 years.  His 2014 year at a glance if anyone is interested.  Mid seniority (5700 out of 12,400)  MD-80 captain.  Hired in January,1997

Pay:    251,000
Profit sharing   (16.4%):     41,462
Defined Contribution (15%):   37,650  plus another 6,175 on the profit sharing
Per Diem:  5,800
Shared Reward:  1,075
Total compaensation:  342;862

Total work days:  162

Good luck even coming close to this in the "future". CP1 dreaming.

Spirit pilot did it, it takes backbone, no denying what they did by sticking together.

How's the garbage business going Neil?

"AAL and industry analysts are projecting a $7.5 billion dollar PROFIT for the year 2015 and beyond. Mind you, this is BEFORE all of the synergies. So let's understand this correctly. The company is in a position to potentially reap $30 billion plus dollars in profits over the life of this proposal, and your offered $1.73 and MAYBE "0"."

Too bad USAPA wasted so many years accomplishing absolutely NOTHING.

Anyone still have any questions on how why we will never be at parity with Delta or United?

This is the perfect example of being owned by Glass and Parker, he has no clue, yet thinks he is going to show management real soon!

this statement is so out there I am actually laughing at it.  Like has been said on other boards "F" No in 2020, you go get em!

Unless of course you were referring to managements compensation in which case I apologize and agree with you

fr8tmastr...I've no further questions, and were the whole scenario not so just-plain-sad; I'd join you in the laughter, but all I can manage at this point is to sadly shake my head in utter disbelief and wholesale amazement at how incredibly easy it's been for the likes of Glass to "play" such people. Oh well.
