Bottom Line: "Doug Parker was quoted as saying that we'll get a Delta contract when we make Delta profits. Well, we've exceeded Delta's profits, and virtually all analysts agree that AA will continue to make profits of at least $4 billion per year into the foreseeable future."  So what's even the possible excuse for the same CEO who said that, and equally said on several occassions that he was all about doing "the right thing"?....?

Yes, right on one of crew news videos, who would though he told us a "white lie", although who would have thought we believed him.

"Come Jan. 15, the two brands will be "co-located," operating out of 14 gates in Concourse B, said Allegheny County Airport Authority Acting Executive Director James Gill. US AIrways' gates are already located in that concourse."

We've got 14 gate in PIT?

Hmmm... Allows 21 day lines, and NO CALENDAR day pay..

"But just look at the new-and-"improved" hourly rates!" Sigh!..I think you're just being a bit picky Phoenix. i mean, really; what's the problem with 21 day lines? it isn't as if you couldn't leave a large picture of yourself and pieces of worn clothing around in hopes your dog(s) might actually recognize at least your scent and not bite you after a few years of such utterly fabulous monthly lines, (children, a spouse or significant other(s)?...Maybe not-so-much after enough time with that BS, and they might well bite, but so what?...Right?) and you could always get post office boxes around the system to pick up any snail mail needed....Just sayin'. Oh! I almost forgot to mention it, but just think of all that added "quality" time to look forward to spending in only the finest deluxe hotels in the very best areas everywhere! Who could pass on just that alone? For anyone at all concerned with how the revised language just "might" hit reserves, well, again = No problem. Just buy a comfy RV and live in the employee parking lot and make sure to always sleep in your company costume/"uniform", with your phone right next to your ear of course (if not actually shoved into it), so's to be always ready to jump up and go anytime. Then there's no worry about how this oft-provenly generous mgmt would actually interpret THEIR contractual language per reserve show...Just trust them. (Umm..What's the current tally numbers of contractual grievances?...No matter. I don't even wanna' know, or even try to guess anymore.)  All problems now solved..."And just look at those "hourly" pay rates!...Wowee!" Mgmt's counting on all involved to do exactly that and not actually think at all.

That part was easy, in that his lips were seen to be moving. ;) I won't even go into any in depth observations about proven personality traits and body language, save to note that whole volumes can be gleaned from observing everybody's best-friend-forever "Doug" speaking. Note just for starters, the amazing lack of even momentarily sustained direct eye contact with anyone present. Then there's the heightened-tempo-and-raised-to-slightly-higher octave quality of speech sounds whenever such nonsense as "the right thing to do" was offered. The temporarily heightened stuttering and higher voice range response was no doubt far earlier learned as a marvelous tool for defensive purposes and to garner instantaneous empathy and even "sympathy" from an audience...and it probably kept his then very young arse from getting otherwise kicked on many occassions, but no matter. All that's textbook stuff. This isn't anything in the way of new behavior, and the bottom line is that that person can be very reasonably depended on to outright lie to to you, with of course a feigned "Aw shucks, but I'm really a likeable guy, aren't I?" deflective delivery....Period.

Denial?  The FAs received TWO pay raises AFTER arbitration.  If you deny that, you can send the extra pay this way.
We received what was turned down in the vote...plus the company wide raise. We didn't get anything more in fact we lost one month of pay. We didn't get retro active pay.

Indeed? So...Sigh!...Let me get this straight here: It was totally "stupid" for your group to vote NO, but yet..."We received what was turned down in the vote...plus the company wide raise."  Well kid, don't mind any of that, and certainly don't ever stop flashing those pom poms around for pilots surrendering then, with even the proven results of your own group's experience, since you of course must counsel others to insanely surrender?....Seriously? I'd say this more gently, but it really just isn't possible, so....What part of your deranged fantasies failing even the slightest test of reality's thus far escaped you entirely? ;)

Folks...One simply couldn't EVER make this kind of "stuff" up, no matter how hard one tried.....

Bottom Line: Here's the deal Boys and Girls. This corporate "cluster" is now the world's largest airline, and it's only temporarilly in the hands of drunken frat boys/"purple tutus", who frankly aren't sufficiently intelligent to likely be around for more than a few years at most. They'll meanwhile try to make this into as much of an "America West, low cost carrier" experience as they can, since it's all they've ever proven themselves capable of doing. They'll be gone in at most a few more years, either from changed circumstances they can't adequately adjust to or even attempt to "manage",  or simply their own general ineptitude with this scale of operations. Will you? They don't even begin to know how to actually run the world's largest airline, and will certainly prove that over time. They're already off to an almost amazingly "good start" by immediately alienating employees, even when the bulk of American empoyees initially saw them as "saviors"...Seriously; just how truly stupid is for them to completely blow that initial "romance" in record time? These people will NOT be around nearly even 1/2, 1/3 or even 1/4th as long as your careers hopefully are, and not by a long shot. It's up to the rank and file Pilots to determine just what you think you're really worth meanwhile.

Speaking of fantasy and worn out Pom poms...have you looked at what the outcome is? Are you or do you have a lawyers degree that entitles you to a half mill or more a year? Your thoughts ( and mine) are opinions...we both have the right to express them. I feel for folks like you though...I really do. You want more and more is never enough. You think you're worth more than you actually are. This isn't you're company nor mine. If you want your own company where you can make the rules...start up you're own and you make the rules....otherwise.youre an employee..not an employer....

O.K. Thanks for the clarification...  You received TWO PAY RAISES... one that you TURNED DOWN and one the you DID NOT ASK FOR.  :D

It's interesting, and a bit telling, that had Parker/Kirby assented to the long-rate rig we would right now have the contract in place by Board approval.  But Parker/Kirby said no, and now the Board and members are picking apart other sections as being totally unacceptable.

How did that happen?  Why was everything offered by the company totally acceptable on the condition that one item be included, but now the entire package is garbage?  And the long-rate rig is something that only the westicles (about 15% of the APA) have anyway.  Given the size and attrition of the qualified pilot pool, the long-rate rig is essentially a solution in search of a problem.  And THAT was the only deal-breaker as far as the Board was concerned.

Hmmm.

Remember the majority on here complain...I guess because no one else can stomach it in person...if you are positive on here you're a company spy, scab or just plain looney....I can assure you the majority of people on the line aren't like what you see on these boards. They are professional and actually do like their job and enjoy working for American...

Two voters... One is a Yes and one is a No.   (Got water?)

Denial...you vote it down it will not be retro active...you will not get more monies... You wanted someone to trust...now you got it...folks this contract is above and beyond what most expected...please look beyond your childish games and vote smart...
In all seriousness why are you here? Yes I like flying airplanes 2 or 3 times a month--just to get out of the house. However when the jetbridge is attached--the answer is no to ANYTHING that the Tempe Brain Trust believes is in my best interest.
