Ok, then you fleet service guys hang in this thread.. deal? Stay out of mechanics' thrreads and keep your opinions regarding AMFA to yourselves, because after all, you are not mechanics...Deal?cltrat said:just the same we;d appreciate you guys hanging in your own thread, thanks
I'm sorry but I find that request to be extremely difficult since you seem to think every thread should be designated a mechanic thread or a discussion that must seque into an AMFA dialog. Could you be a little more specific about what you term to be mechanic threads exclusively so we can know where we are allowed to comment under your particular guidelines?MetalMover said:Ok, then you fleet service guys hang in this thread.. deal? That's where the real fight will come in. To save the 23 and the 7 hubs.Tim Nelson said:You are correct. Those tier two stations are on the table for the next course on the menu. The company will digest the 2,000 from the 28 stations and that will take a couple years. When the tier two 'drop dead' date is up [Jan 2018] you can be sure they will be contracted out and absorbed by this management. However, any new negotiation team should have a lot of leverage since the United members really don't have anything other than a wage and normal retirement contributions. Hopefully, the AA negotiations with the Association will be complete and then the United negotiators can point to that and use that as a model. Hopefully, the Association doesn't sign any arbitration clause because ramp jobs may be eaten alive by an arbitrator if he compares the scope at US AIRWAYS to Delta or United, and the part time issues. IMO, we can't afford arbitration due to the very high risk of management just going thru the motions in negotiations and then serving it up to limited arbitration 6 months later. Pilots and Stews are different since they are all full time and the scope is clear.
As an aside, I'm hearing chatter that a TWU/IAM merger is being discussed again. IMO, that makes sense and it would be about time that unions started merging in this industry like the stew union did with the CWA. I'd be all for the TWU merging with the IAM. That would consolidate all ramp contracts into one union.
I remember the days when we used to carry a bag full of pins all wrapped around each other.robbedagain said:WeAA I was working the MIA flight last week the 520 BWI to MIA flight and when I put the nose steering bypass pin in its the same size as our Airbus I always thought the 738 would be similar to the rest of the earlier 73 models I just thought its a bit interesting that we use the AB pin for the 738s... unless there is a specified pin for the 738

MetalMover said:At least when a topic gets hijacked into a mechanic thread..IT IS AMERICAN AIRLINES MECHANICS DOING THE HIJACKING!

Metal this thread is very specific that it is in regards to matters concerning Fleet service. Fleet service does not and should not only be resigned to AA fleet since what goes on in other areas of our class and craft will absolutely have an effect on us. So why do you think we shouldn't discuss and be aware of those issues?MetalMover said:
So WeAAsles, since I was told to "hang" out in my own thread...Will you respond to citrat the same way?
So you've accused me and others of hijacking the fleet service thread but I don't see you accusing the UA posters of hijacking.
I do not care what "others" have noticed.....Did you ever stop to think what happens to fleet service happens to us all?WeAAsles said:Metal this thread is very specific that it is in regards to matters concerning Fleet service. If you are interested in things that happen with our group that's great and appreciated but it's more than likely that you only want to participate here to undermine the IAM, the TWU or the Association since that's what you do on every topic you participate on. Anything remotely against those 3 groups I believe you see as an opportunity to undermine and run with to support your cause.
Others have seemed to notice that as well and maybe that's why they have asked you to leave their house? Not all but some. If you really want to hang you could try sitting down, grab some popcorn and watch the movie as it unfolds.
Of course you can do whatever you wish but just don't forget that since this is a public forum I can also do whatever I want. And that includes highlighting in bold and red so that people who are interested can read it better. You haven't seen ME do that in certain areas lately have you?MetalMover said:I do not care what "others" have noticed.....Did you ever stop to think what happens to fleet service happens to us all?
I have a right to refute fleet services' love affair with the TWU when it comes to my class and craft. Just like there are those in fleet service who have WAAAAAy too much to say about AMFA in a MECHANICS' thread and have made it clear they will say what they wish there,, I will speak out AGAINST the TWU wherever and whenever I wish. Sorry if you and "others" don't like it
Once again, your latest diatribe against me is off base.. This thread has become a UA board all of a sudden. All I mentioned was UA and immediately you attack me for hijacking your fleet service thread.
I was not the one who initiated mechanics should stay out of fleet service discussions. If you are going to preach to me, then preach to those in your group as well.WeAAsles said:Of course you can do whatever you wish but just don't forget that since this is a public forum I can also do whatever I want. Actually I would support it. Contrary to how I may be perceived here, I support all airline workers as we have been taking a beating since the early 80s. I do not advocate outsourcing of any job.WeAAsles said:MetalMover let me ask you.
I signed and supported your petition to recognize your Craft and Class with the NMB without the "related" attachment.
Would you support any future initiative to have the FAA put us under the same guidelines as yourself that would require mandatory random drug testing for Fleet service performed work?
I think if something like that were in place it would be far more difficult for the Airlines to find and hold onto low wage companies and workers that they have been and are trying to replace us with.
I'm sure they would fight that initiative with every tooth and nail they have.
The actual pin (silver part) of the airbus is just over a inch, the boeing pin is close to 3 inches(i.e silver part)robbedagain said:WeAA I was working the MIA flight last week the 520 BWI to MIA flight and when I put the nose steering bypass pin in its the same size as our Airbus I always thought the 738 would be similar to the rest of the earlier 73 models I just thought its a bit interesting that we use the AB pin for the 738s... unless there is a specified pin for the 738
