Back to the fleet service thread there pot stirrer!

How did what I ask stir the pot if it's all true? Yesterday I was stirring the pot. Today I'm being thoughtful and inquisitive.

The Pilots and FA's were able to break away from the TWU and form their own groups? How were they able to accomplish it and you guy's couldn't and can't?

Yes absolutely the Association formation put a damper in your quest but why did you not get it done when you knew it was coming? I tried to tell you guys that I didn't think there was going to be a vote. You know I did and so did 700. We gave you a heads up and you still didn't get it done?

I'll leave you alone here if that's what you want? But clueing you in early on maybe meant at least in some way I was trying to help you.

700UW has it right IMO. It's your elitism that kills you guys every time.

The Association put a damper on all of our quest who want decent representation...So far, it's been a joke!

This is not a hit I swear. I'm just curious really. AMFA started over 50 years ago by an AA mechanic. So that tells me for over 50 years some people have been trying to get them in. All those years the TWU has found ways to connive and keep them out? That doesn't make sense? I would have to have thought that the best opportunities for that change would have been after deregulation maybe in 83 and absolutely after the 03 concessions?
If the Association brings back a contract that puts you over the current Delta rate and maybe saves jobs, how will the drive ever be able to succeed?
Again out of pure curiosity why has the drive never been successful and it started before I was even born in 1965? Is it a pure lack of cohesion, apathy, education or something else entirely?
Now is not the time for trolling on the AMT topic. You been at AA long enough to figure out why we are stuck with your fleet service union. You been on these boards long enough and your involved with the TWU as well. Your smarter than the dumb A$$ your perceiving to be.
Now go back and stand next to the belt loader waiting for the next cart full of bags to load in the belly. I will go back in my E/E hole and interrogate the cabin pressure controller.

Ok hopefully once you catch up to your approximately $5000.00 loss, you'll donate the extra $25,000 for the life of the contract to a worthy cause? (Not counting extra hours and 401 contributions)

May I suggest Seeing Eye Dogs of America?

Maybe your boy Lombardo can send another apologetic letter asking AA why no proposal when they met. You know, kinda like he did when he questioned them about the prefunding match...lmao...militant Lomabardo...

Keeping fighting W, maybe you can be Sean Doyle some day!

Not taking it as a hit I swear.  ;)

My post has nothing to do with a desire to have AMFA, but rather how when the best chance in fifty years to get rid of the TWU finally arisen, a bunch of naive mechanics helped out a Jim Little led Teamster drive that will set any effort back another 50 years by killing the election chances while the signing of the ASSociation ink was just signed.  You hit it on the head with cohesion, apathy, education and the elusive something else.  All of the above is my answer.

My belief is that the ASSociation was a bad idea from not being united under one union, and has become horrendous idea since we have discovered that the IAM is more pathetic than the TWU.  I'd rather be in the TWU as a stand alone union than the ASSociation.

I do hope the ASSociation brings back a good agreement and don't cave to pressure from those members already capitulating on these forums and in my breakroom to just take the money and run.  Run where?  Unemployment lines with the language we currently have?  I've been there and it wasn't fun.  Top pay and top scope is a must

Thoughtful and inquisitive? Yeah right. If that ain't pot stirring, I don't know what is!

And everyone knows why we haven't be able to change representation. No need to rehash.

Buh, bye!

Thanks. I appreciate the response. And I hope they don't cave either.

Gotta love it, you mouth off about extra money from the Ass because of the delay. You can't wait to spew whatever they whisper in your ear or give you they ok to post. Then you comeback with this "And I hope they don't cave either". WTF, do you trust your negotiators or not? C'mon W, get it together, especially if you expect to move up the ladder!!

I agree. In addition to the wages, I believe the problem is many of the posters here expect immediate relief for everything they gave up over the last 2 contracts. If their personal needs weren’t mentioned in the openers, they’d self-destruct. That’s apparently led to the laundry list approach. Let’s hope the Negotiating Committee has a better strategy than that otherwise they’ll be at the table for a long time while the members continue to lose ground.
At the 8/20/2015 DFW Town Hall, Parker is on record as saying Delta or United plus 7% (whover is higher) with no changes to the work rules to offset those increases.
If we only concentrate on the money and don't hold the company to comparable contracts as far as holidays and overtime while we are making record profits we will be screwed the next time. For most of us this is our last or at most second to last contract at AA.
This flier from 2003 should be in the ASSociations proposal:

It's not that they will cave, it's just about the money, get it now, they are so used to going to the tool room getting the white 1 gal. bucket and taking two scoops.
No matter what other things get taken away in the process they just don't care. Lets just sign it now, is what many in the break room are saying.

The TWU taught the members it's ok to just get yours.

We all will see as we go forward just how much info gets put out by this Assoc. and how much of the IAM lets out as well.
The TWU usually tell us NOTHING.

Not defending anyone, just explaining what happened, and he was presenting at an airline conference the day and night before in FL.

He probably took the first flight out.

And what don't you understand that Glass is the point man, not Isom?

700UW

As you have addmitted so many times you are NOT an airline employee nor apart of the IAM but you push your bs on here for all to read/sort through,
Explain how you now have become an expert on travel plans work schedule and give an excuse for this disrespect for the union leaders of the assoc.

That is pure arrogance on his part, DP and his team disrepected the IAM at US and the TWU for years has let AA crap on us so they feel that it is acceptable.
