2015 AMT Discussion

I hope we find out if AA offers us an insulting contract before Christmas, so I know what kind of Christmas gifts to get my kids.

Heard from UAL mechs, UAL wants the amts to give up retiree medical, wide body OH, and create a b scale with more years for top out, less holidays and less sick. Also sending strike ballet. IBT recommends a NO vote.

The guys I talked to said they're voting no, I think overall they will vote contract in.

That reminds me of that guy in Tulsa on the local news back during the BK complaining about how he was going to tell his son that he can't buy him video games if we vote no on the BK contract.

I agree.  When he first came to Tulsa he said he was surprised that AMTs didn't want their neighbors to know they worked at AA and that the moral was very low.  Then he proceeded to run the Tulsa base like a f---ing prison.  He also promoted the dumbest, most incompetent people to directors.  They continue to destroy any chance there is of getting or keeping any work here.  I wish that sawed off piece of crap all the worst.............  I am OldGuy and I approve this message.
Totally agree. And I like the new appointments, cannot find anything on Jetnet about it but dug this up off the web. Their history is maintenance and not IGM look at what I did (no matter the cost or efficiency loss) six sigma stooge!

For all those years we heard from Tulsa, that there was no need for a city differential if you lived in the cities like ORD, LAX ,NYC, SFO. The phrase just move to Tulsa was used. If you are in Tulsa you better hope that it is included in this contract for the simple reason that  Tulsa no longer has the most votes, and the new American is not that interested in overhaul and has a great many more options. You may soon find yourselves in one of those cities trying to live on Tulsa wages. I hope that everything works out for all.

the latest jetnet townhall J R Ruiz what an idiot isnt he one of the vote no video stars. The company basically threw the union under the bus. That it is their fault we do not have a contract. time to kick these bastards off of our backs.

OK how about they start telling the membership what they RECONCILED?
I agree. No accountability what so ever. Business as usual. They say no news is good news. In this case no news is very bad news.

I was talking to some title 2 guys about that a while back and one of them got really mad at me.  Turns out the guy was a friend of his. haha.  But seriously of all the people Channel 6 found a machinist (the guy who wanted to buy video games.) and Rick Mullins who came from title 2 and was at the time working for the TWU international making over $100K and made the statement: "Ahhhhh we were hoping it would pass."  Keep in mind that the official stance of the TWU was neutral.

AMTO is just a mechanic that gets RIFed and chooses to displace an OSM
Okay. Yeah Delta didn't do that. If you went down to ASM you were just an ASM. You didn't get bump back rights either. Only way to get a AMT slots was after the recalls and the company started posting spots internally (or externally hiring)

most of the AMTs just took the furlough but I know a few who bumped down to ASM. FWIW most of those who did ended up being AMTs pretty quickly because the company needed more people with the influx of MRO work and bringing some work back in-house post BK.

Fwiw, Delta hired A&P's with little to no experience right out of school as "Junior Mechanic" back in the 80's.
Okay, I didn't hire in that way and I'm sure there were those that did.

in other words, send us a contract with money that is a turd so I can vote yes............

Let me be clear the scope that LUS has seems like the new way of today's business, but UAL and IBTs wanting/forced into making a new B scale. Is nothing I would vote for or would I expect anybody of our generation to vote for. No matter how much a pay raise there is.

UAL wanting a B scale is doing nothing but creating animosity between mechs management and the union. Something we have all lived threw, which is a big reason a lot of us could give a crap about the A scalers.

I also think it would be in the company's interest to make sure that the contract pie is divided as it should be.

Doesn't it suck that I'm hoping the company looks out for my interests with my own Union.

And again, odd you think that way when your goal is Delta pay but find it okay to do less work than they (we) do in-house.
