2015 AMT Discussion

I fear that any push toward the IAM Pension Fund as a negotiated item could cause a reduction of the matching percentage for the 401k........

You may be right. And the TWU would probably agree to it.

That's my concern. On the retirement options, the IAM leadership will be so focused on keeping their plan solvent they will sacrifice somewhere else like maintaining or improving the match/defined contribution. That's an automatic no vote from most of the TWU'ers I have spoken to.

So are you guys getting any kind of updates on the details of what this association is asking for? Or are you guys being kept in the dark until a T/A is reached?  When are you guys meeting for nego's to start? Just looking for an update if you all have one. Good luck guys...

No updates. Just the union proposal given to the company. Our skepticism about the IAMNPF is what concerns us. We (LAAers)  do NOT want this shoved down our throats. We do not want the company offering to put ALL of us in it where they contribute in LIEU of the 401k match.. If they want to make it optional, then ok.
But we will not accept it in LIEU of a 401k match....

As for negotiations, they begin Jan 11 for three consecutive weeks.

The Association put out their proposal on their FB page. It's basically a snap back to pre-2003 concessions and merge of the IAM and TWU CBAs. Parker has stated during his DFW town hall simply that the Association has asked for a lot of things and, "...we aren't going to do that." So the next three weeks of negotiations should be interesting.

The pen is out of ink...

I bet that AA counters with a big money offer with the better of the two holidays, SK, and medical. I concerned that will be the bait but what is the switch? More outsourcing on par with what US has now? No more engine overhaul?

Sarcastic buck.
Actually I am wondering who is being truthful.
30+ years of not trusting the TWU to look out for the mechanic and a
company CEO continually remarks about" there is so much for our employees in a new contract, that cannot imagine it takes along period of time, it would be real unfortunate."

Yet the proposal from the TWU/IAM Association: "The proposals that were offered to us ( the company ), are something we are certinatelly  not

Yet the proposal from the TWU/IAM Association: "The proposals that were offered to us ( the company ), are something we are certainly, not going to be able to do. But it's negotiations. We don't think you can be the best airline in the world and tell people to work for less than people that are doing the jobs at Delta or United."

Delta or United plus 3% at the time of the contract signing.
