What ever happens with the ASSOCIATION JCBA there will be issues based on former Alliances and Region. No matter what any one says just like the Country there is going to be divisions with the Rank/File. If any one is listening or reading AF i would advise they start with the State Labor Laws that are WORKER friendly. Finally ! with LAX being a HUB WE/CA will have a say going into JCN . Lets all hope the TWU will have LAX/CA TWU Members on ASSOCIATION NC ? IAM FS NC 0 . Also, still no IAM FS CBA Books sent to SFO . We heard from a IAM Leader that they are being distributed by alphabetic order ? If that's true WOW !

My understanding is that Kev may very well b kip hedges. Kip, one of the best labor leaders this century, got terminated by delta for advocating $15 minimum wage in msp. There are newspaper links regarding this.

Nope, not me, but I appreciate the thought.

Kip is not only a great labor advocate, he is one of us. Please share his story widely and lend your support in any way you can.

A new year is fast approaching. We await a NMB ruling on the IAM's filing for single carrier status. We await a NMB ruling on recognition of the mutually agreed to "Association" between the IAM and the TWU. We await the ramifications of any such decision by the NMB (vote / no vote). We await a decision on the protest filed concerning the results of the recent DL 141 Officer election. Kind of like being in the military... hurry up to wait.

Agreed. I don't believe the TWU Membership is being prepared for what is going to be a very complex set of negotiations. Not sure if the IAM side is any different, but they at least have the experience of past mergers to draw from. In negotiations, there is typically a set number on the management side and everyone works from that point. Hopefully, we can gain a larger number than what the negotiations began with but we must also understand that there are built in costs and those need to be factored in as the collective body moves forward.

If the past is any example, neither TWU nor the IAM  can afford to allow themselves to get dragged into a fight between us. The only winner there, as the USAir Pilots have learned, is management. While we may have some differences in our current jobs, we must find the common ground so we can all benefit from presenting a united front.

Those of us on the AA side are waiting on a couple of "minor" things as well...

Many issues need to be resolved before a JCBA is reached. The membership needs to be patient and realize the goal of obtaining a JCBA will take considerable time. In the meantime... we are in "standby" mode.

Glad to see that this is now officially been transferred over to an American Airlines forum. The one year anniversary of the merger was a good time to make that happen here.

Orgac   So far  2 days into it   we are getting hang of things  but I do believe we will need more people     bec of all the AA cleaning that they do vs US side   but overall bro  its positive   and it helps that we are on one side and their right on the other side of us..  just a stones walk thru the door

Overall it's been good. There have been challenges but the guys are doing the best they can. There are glitches; but nothing that can't be overcome and resolved. The members realize; taking on the insourced work has resulted in less arse time but it's better to be busy than to be outsourced. The critical issue, going forward, is manpower staffing hours. Right now there are temporary FT upgrades of the former Envoy employees that were hired on. It barely gets us to the staffing requirements. I don't see how it will work if the upgrades are not made permanent. With that being said... let it be known; the IAM represented members in my station are doing their best to make it work. We want the work. We want it to succeed. However, you can only succeed if given the adequate staffing. Hoping your station's members give it their best shot.
