1400 pilots apply in two weeks

Since you're quoting Passages as your source, does that mean you had no concrete evidence to prove they were all qualified?

Is that why it took you almost 6 weeks to respond?

I have been waiting for Jenny's reply since August. Do you think she will ever answer? My quoting of Passages was back-up to my statement. Do you want all 1400 applications as proof?

What does that have to do with what I asked you?

Sure, why not? Anything "official" while this was an current/timely topic would have sufficed....BTW, I'm still waiting.

Only 17 days to respond this time, though; I wasn't expecting you 'til around Thanksgiving...much better!

Well Kev, my original reply was to Jenny and she never answered. Do you always answer for her? What proof will Jenny accept?

Did all of you who doubted it when I said that all 1400 applicants met the minimum requirements. In the latest Passages it states that NWA sent out 1700 applications to QUALIFIED applicants after the on line screening process.
Let me guess Bob. You were hired as part of the "new Northwest", when they were preparing for the F/A strike. Now you are drunk on the kool-aid.

Maybe you should take the hint.

Do you always answer for her?

Read these threads again.

I never answer for her (she can handle her own business)...

You're the one who keeps asking me why she won't answer you.

What proof will Jenny accept?

I have no idea. I'd tell you to ask her yourself, but you'll probably just continue to be ignored.

Don't you have some teens to "wow" over on A.net?

Kev, so are also saying that many of the original 1400 applicants weren't qualified? Also, I probably have been at Northwest longer than you, and I apparently "wowed" you at A.net. You and Jenny appear to be nothing but whiners but neither of you have the gumption to carry through.

Well you just "wowed" me with this post----NOT !
perhaps the name should be boobnwa?

Let's recap, since you seemed to have gotten lost.

The question of how many of the applications submitted were from qualified pilots was asked. Not ones actually accepted for further review, just submitted.

You then decided to announce that you were absolutely sure that every last one was, in fact, from a qualified person.

When asked for the qualifications NWA required, you wouldn't/couldn't post them; I had to do it for you.

When asked for proof that every last pilot application submitted not accepted for further review met those qualifications, you gave none, until 6 weeks later when you feebly trotted out a Passages article (which didn't answer the question at all, BTW).

You then decided that asking me why Jenny ignores you was more important than answering the questions posed in this thread.

Also, I probably have been at Northwest longer than you,

Hey, good for you! Senior to me? Who isn't? If you are senior to me, logic would dictate that you're also older, and thus, should be smarter, but here we are.

and I apparently "wowed" you at A.net.

Your hubris is equally distasteful on both sites; the difference being that at A.Net there's a huge contingent of 12-18 year olds who eat up the blather you spew.

You and Jenny appear to be nothing but whiners but neither of you have the gumption to carry through.

No whining here. Just looking for answers to questions posed. Nice attempt at using a personal attack to distract from the questions at hand, though.

Here's another one while I'm at it; what have I not followed through on? Please cite specific examples, since you seem to know me so well.

Since you want to recap, then lets do it. It was Jenny's message that I replied to, that you took it upon yourself to answer back for her. Her original statement was " Lets see...1400 applied but how many are actully qualified. Misleading again"
Again I ask, do you and Jenny still maintain that many of the applicants did not meet the minimum qualifications? That should be an easy question to answer, yes or no?

As far as Jenny not answering back, I guess that is her decision when confronted with a contradiction. She did announce on another board that she and several senior pilots were quiting immediately. Was that statement fact or BS?

It is entirely reasonable that some pilots that weren't qualified applied, just to see what would happen (sort of a "hey, what the heck?" kind of deal). This happens in any kind of job posting, and is not exclusive to aviation.

You are the one who has maintained that this is impossible.

NWA's accepting these unqualified applicants/offering employment was never in question.

When asked for some (any) sort of proof that everyone of these applicants met NWA's qualifications, you gave none.

I'm still waiting.

Kev,
They were not sent applications until they filled out a online form. Only those meeting the minimum requirements were sent applications. Some 1400 returned the applications in 2 weeks. Go to the online posting and see for yourself. Again I ask, do you and Jenny still maintain that many did not meet the minimum requirements. Can't you answer that question?

Perfect.

This was the type of answer I was looking for. Why didn't you post this clarification in the first place? Just feel like debating semantics?

Why don't you and Jenny answer my question, do you still believe that a large number of the 1400 applicants did not meet the minimum requirements?

Why don't you and Jenny answer my question,

I have. Several times, in fact.

do you still believe that a large number of the 1400 applicants did not meet the minimum requirements?

I believe that it's entirely reasonable/probable that some of the initial applicants (via screening process or whatever method used) did not meet the requirements, and applied on a lark. Until you show me any kind of hard evidence to prove otherwise, that won't change, no matter how many times you ask.

There is not, nor has there been a question on wether (sp?) or not NWA accepted those people or offered them employment.

I'm still waiting to hear an example of how I "lack gumption and fail to follow through," BTW.
