Southwest has the ugliest paint scheme ever sprayed on a commercial airliner! Their whole livery, inside and out, reeks of Sanford and Son-ish taste!
I agree with you GeezLouis.
I have posted before my opinions on Southwest. I think they are junkie, too. Their flight attendants look messy and unprofessional and their safety announcements make me want to cringe. ("If you don't know how to fasten a seat belt then you shouldn't be out in public blah blah blah.")

It is true that people are flying them, but the only reason has to be the COST. It is certainly not the cattle-call style of boarding and the pushing and shoving to get a seat by the window!

Let's not forget the chance to sit next to someone who forgot their deodorant (this was on an episode of "Airline" on A&E). Oh boy. Hey, you get what you pay for though. And therein lies the dilemma.

Hey, people with body odor is everywhere these days. Even on U. Imagine that???

Walked on one of our a/c the other day and it smelled as though it had been loaded with geriatrics who had unloaded in their diapers.

Guess you should stay out of the cockpit!

"What's 15 feet long and smells like pee?"

"A Line Dance at a Senior Center!"

Not to mention diversions. When Southwest diverts, your screwed. Many occasions on U, I have been diverted, but we sat on the runway and when cleared, U got me to my destination. Cannot say the same for Southwest and that is why U is superior with service. I still occasionally use Southwest. It does involve the cost factor and clients reimbursement issues. Service, to some, is not their priority. Monetary.

Yes,

There are so many things left that the company can do to save money. As things get tighter they will enact them one by one, just keeping themselves on the edge. This will continue until their little exersize in squeezing is over. Then watch out, Profit City!!!
while you and i earn $18/hour plus inflated bennies reducing the 18 to around 10 bucks.....
I HAVE SPOKEN

I hate the word livery.. I hated when that no good prick Gangwhal used to say it even more.. he'd say LIVER-E
Isnt that the correct pronunciation?

That's what I thought, too. I think the poster's problem is the confusion with 'liver-like.' As in,

"Yuck, that plane looks kinda 'livery!'"

Or, "Would you like a side of onions with that paint job?"

Or, "Would an aircraft made of composites be considered to have an iron-poor livery?" (well, that's weak)

But if you pronounced it 'liv-ree' The squeemish and vegan among us would not have disturbed tummies.

We will make it to the end of the Year.

However,if the BIG SHOTS don't smarten up then we are HISTORY.

TREAT YOUR EMPLOYES RIGHT AND THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF THE AIRLINE.

WHICH HASN'T BEEN DONE HERE IN A LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG TIME

 I have a friend who insists its live-ery, as in "Live! From New York!" which makes me think of livestock.

I've always said livery, like a liver. One could always just say paint job or color scheme if in doubt. :D

You could have asked this question 12 years ago and you would have got the same 50/50 reponse....USair will be around 12 years from now.

Not a chance. In 1992, things weren't great, but they were nowhere near as bleak as now.
