X- TWA flight attendants still hope to return to the skies

Is this "so-called" information coming from the super secret society that is only for ex-TWA employees and apparantly has direct access to AA management? As a "native AAmerican" I have not once heard AA management say anything close to what our friends on here say. Maybe it is for certain peoples egos to make them feel better about themselves, when reality is different. But, hey, if you feel better, then good for you. I enjoy how all this "information" keeps coming from people who don't even work for AA. They always seem to have a direct line to "management". Priceless. I have NO problem with any and all that want to come back, I hope they do. BUT, if TWA had such great people and was such a great company, why don't I work for TWA? I know it is very hard for cetain people on this board to swallow, but there is a reason AA was the one that bought TWA out of bancruptcy. AA was the better company at the time. All those wonderfull people we are constantly reminded of didn't bring enough customers, money, capital etc. to keep TWA alive. Why is that? Maybe there is a little stockholm syndrome that comes with previously working for TWA. Everything is all rosey, when it clearly was not. Maybe everyone is a rock star at customer service, when they clearly were not.

I will repeat what I said, the AA management has been impressed with the quality of service provided by the ex-TWA f/as.

Maybe in your eyes, they have. One former TWA f/a in question has pissed off everyone in LGA. Her name starts with a B and that's all I will say about it.

Well, this productive. Lets get in a p***ing match over who does better work. TWA found the same increase in customer service comments when the full term strikers returned. I call it the "honeymoon" period. It is what it is. No one has said the AA f/as aren't fine employees but I have personally seen comments from the DCA, LGA, ORD and STL Base Managers. Everyone should be happy the return of the furloughed "seniors" has been successful. Many doubted we could work together. Personally I'm proud that you have all proved Senior Management wrong. We all agree there are stinkers on both sides of the discussions.

As usual you know absolutely nothing about the subject and you choose to be personally insulting by demeaning others. If you are an example of the humanity of a nAAtive cabin attendant, you have just provided us with an example on how you treat other human beings. God bless those you serve.

That may indeed be true; but do you think that AA management really cares? All they see are numbers; and those who are awaiting recall are topped out in pay and benefits. If they can avoid recalling before the end of the extension, which is almost a certainty in this economy, they can then hire off the street at bottom dollar and minimal benefits.

I'm gonna Chime in here,....and say, that with "BO" these good folks stand a better than 50/50 chance, of getting another extention, and eventually flying again.

GOD KNOWS,................I'm NO fan of my union the...TWU,.....but even THEY did the decent thing to the TWA rampers....with a 4 to 1 ratio in certain cities.

The APA "bent" a lil' bit as well.

What the APFA did to those folks was................WRONG !!!

It would NOT have "killed" APFA, to give those LLC F/A's a "4-1" in STL, and JFK(alone) !!

Hey wait a minute ... you're walking on thin ice here...so back off. Our deal had nothing to do with the other unions .... How many times have I heard the pilots and rampers say I wish our union had the the b***s to do what you guys did.

Do me a favor and read IORFA's post about 3 more times.. It is so true..... sooooo true and well said..... It should be framed!!!

The only thing I can chime in...is Mr. Chamberlain, you really do not know the culture at AA if you think they care at all about honoring good service vs the dollar. AA has loyalty to nothing besides it's BOD. I know this firsthand. I was recently in a situation where my son was critcally injured while I was on a layover....long story short, the company did NOTHING to accomodate me or get me to my son, even with 15 hours notice. They did not even pick up the tab to fly me to the city where my son was at. I have worked for this company for 18 years, they do not care, period.

I do not believe anything IORFA says could pass any kind of a reality check much less contain an element of truth. Its basically trash talk.

Though unfortunate, your rant has nothing to do with the topic.

Personally I don't care if you are NAAtive or TWAER , I don't even pull up an NS anymore......If you are friendly and do your job that's all that matters to me! And nearly everyone who I fly with does it well.

LOOK Maark767,....You, Me and most of the whole "GD" World...know that legally, APFA did NOT have to do anything other than what they did !!

Just like I Do NOT have to put a crummy dollar into the "kettle" of the Salvation Army, outside of the stores at Xmas time. That lil' bit of charity never hurts my financial standing in the world, from year to year !

Do You ever put a "buck" into the kettle Maark767 ?
Or do you slip into the store...via the Exit door ?

Bears, all the TWAers (from every group) were SCREAMING DOH as soon as the deal closed. Some TWA pilots got protection while mechanic/related and ramp went to binding arbitration resulting in the Kasher decision which gave them DOH in their bases but protected nAAtives in their bases from the TWAers attempted predations. Guess what?? That still wasn't good enough for them. Their mantra was "what is mine is mine and what is yours is mine." The APFA did do it right because without AA, they would have been on the street without a pot to pi$$ in. The TWAers owe AA and the nAAtives an enormous debt of gratitude because many are still working at top legacy pay and those who were laid off got FULL severance plus unused vacation. Additionally, MANY of them have been able to retire from AA with a PENSION (an item they willingly surrendered at TWA), retiree medical, life insurance, money from cashing in unused sick time, and passes. And if all that wasn't enough, MANY have taken the VBR which was a nice chunk of change. They would have had NONE of this had AA not thrown them a life line. I find it very strange that so many want to be recalled while at the same time complaining about how bad AA and the nAAtives are.

Strange, the Congress thought so little of what happened to the TWAers, they passed a law so it would not happen again.

No her post has much truth to it... If TWA was so great why did it fail...??? We get tired of hearing how TWA did things better. I guess it gets old after a while ... After all AA did buy TWA ,so we must be doing something right...
